An old track – redone as a funky 70s killer from James Brown! The track starts out in a JBs party mode – with some dialogue before the band starts playing, then hitting a "Funky Good Time" groove. Over the top, you'll get some hard raw guitar soloing – very much in the classic mode from the Bill Doggett original – and the "part 2" features some great sax work, probably from Maceo! Originally issued only on single, before appearing on a greatest hits LP. 7-inch, Vinyl record
Like a lot of the Wand singles from this period, this one's got two versions of a single track – one disco and one soul. One of the bigger tracks from the South Shore Commission, with production by Bunny Sigler. 7-inch, Vinyl record
Heavy funk from Betty – working here in her best deep soul mode! The main side is a nice cover of "Games People Play", but the real killer is "My Train" – a badass bit of funky female soul that really kicks some ass! The tune's got some of the tightest backings that Betty ever got on wax – and she steps up with a magnificent hard soul vocal to match! 7-inch, Vinyl record
One of the last great JBs singles! The track starts with a great spoken intro, then leaps into a hard heavy cookin' instrumental groove, with a nice snapping choppy beat! Backed here by the JBs' great cover of Sly Stone's big hit, too! 7-inch, Vinyl record
A genius jazzy number from Quincy Jones – Latinized fusion, produced with a bit of an 80s groove bounce and some really sweet touches on vocals! The tune's got an anthemic feel that made it one of the greatest tunes from The Dude– and proof that the Q was alive and well into the 80s! The tune is paired here with an older numbers – "There's A Train Leavin"for release on this 7" single. 7-inch, Vinyl record
