Yan TreggerL'Amour A La Bouche ... CD
Omega Productions (France), 1974. New Copy ... $13.99
A sweet sexy score from the great Yan Tregger – who you'll also know for his disco and sound library material on the late 70s Italian scene! This music is a bit earlier than some of Yan's sounds that we know from that part of the decade, but all the best roots of his groove are firmly in place – including an early love of fast funk tunes mixed with strings, creating a nascent disco vibe at times – which then gives way to slower, slinkier tunes that mix great basslines with the orchestrations – very much in the best Serge Gainsbourg/Jean Claude Vannier mode! A few tunes get a bit more playfully melodic, but these are more than offset by some of the tighter, funkier numbers on the set – titles that include "Tirage Coquin", "Theme D'Amour", "L'Amour A La Bouche", "Preliminaires Gastronomiques", "Frankenstein Delivere", "Decadance", and "Fin De Partie". Yan TreggerTo The Land Of No Return (with bonus track) ... LP
Magic Touch/Wah Wah (Spain), 1983. New Copy (reissue)... $29.99
Yan Tregger gave the world some funky sound library work in the 70s – but here, he's in much darker territory – definitely in the land of no return, which he explores with waves of really moody electronics! The tunes are still rhythmic – as with Yan's previous work – but also have all these dark corners, spooky echoes, and fuzzy electronics all around the edges – maybe in a way that's similar to the Jazz Funk Greats sound of Throbbing Gristle, but with no vocals at all – and more focused too. Titles include "Hooter", "Shelters", "Insects World", "Caught", "Starting Tone", "Departure", "Nature Death", and "Metal Kit". Reissue features the unreleased bonus track "Space Flower". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition of 500!)

✨✧ Yan TreggerCatchy ... CD
BBE (UK), 1978. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
The cover looks gothic, but the sound is plenty darn groovy – a sweet set of sound library instrumentals from the 70s scene in Paris – most of them served up with an upbeat, clubby sort of vibe! Yan Tregger may not be one of those names that immediately comes to the lips of underground club collectors – but there's plenty of great clubby moments here, with grooves that bubble on tight basslines, swing with sweet keyboards, and often get lots of riffing guitar in the mix! Yet there's also some nicely weird touches too – as you might expect from a record that was cut far from the mainstream, as part of a studio library set – the kind of weird funky elements you might find on some of the more obscure 12" singles from the late 70s underground. Titles include "Carry On", "Gimmicky", "Sunny Wing", "Light Heart (parts 1 & 2)", "Riff On", "Lyric Soul", "Slow Zoom", and "This Time". CD

✨✧ Yan TreggerDucks & Drakes ... CD
BBE (UK), 1979. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
An underground funky gem – one that never made it past the collections of the elite sound library audience in the 70s – but which is well deserving of global acclaim! Yan Tregger works here in this style that's every bit as funky as his contemporaries on bigger library labels, but which also shows a strong love of club music too – not straight disco, at least not in any sort of "easy" way – but a real ear for just the right sort of basslines, keyboard parts, and uptempo rhythms to keep things moving throughout! Given the all-instrumental approach, think of this set as a jazzy take on clubby grooves – or maybe an instrumental funk record for the clubs – with great cuts that include "The Girl In The Gold", "Dawn & Darkness", "Friend Island", "The Last Girl", "Haunting Refrain", "Girls Will Be Girls", and "The Way Of All Flesh". ✨✧ Jacky Giordano & Yan TeggerSchifters 45s Collection (2 x 7 inch set) ... 7-inch
Premiere/Dynamite Cuts (UK), 1974. New Copy 2 x 7 inch set (pic cover, reissue)... Out Of Stock
Four fantastic sound library gems from the 70s – all directed by Yan Tregger, and featuring some mighty sweet keyboards from the legendary Jacky Giordano! "Rieka" has this cool swirling sound next to the beats and wah wah guitar – unlike anything else we can think of – while "O'Seven" is tighter, more familiar keyboard-driven funk in the rhythm – but still with this totally great guitar part that gets all freaky and fuzzy! "Old Timmy" has a very groovy vibe – riffing guitar right along with the rhythms, peppered by drums – and "Gost" is harder, funkier, and has some cool clavi that really comes on strong! 7-inch, Vinyl record

Jacky GiordanoPhilopsis ... LP
Freesound/Digger's Digest (France), 1978. New Copy (reissue)... $36.99
An album with an ancient-looking painting on the front, but a style that's pure 70s – served up here in a keyboard-heavy style from sound library giant Jacky Giordano! Jacky's given us plenty of funky records over the years, and this rare gem is definitely up with those 70s classics – lots of tight, sharp tracks – drums that crackle nicely, but with an approach to funk that's nicely changed up from the familiar – topped with these keyboard lines that have a very different flavor on each track, creating a strong sense of variety, usually just with a bit of bass in the mix as well! The album supposedly features help from contemporary Yan Tregger – and titles include "Acid Feerique", "Philopsis", "Fluid Man", "Steel Mongoes", "Jumbo Flash", "Callisto", "Supplice Form", and "Agartha". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited to 500 copies.)
