Patrick CowleyMind Warp ... LP
Megatone, 1982. Near Mint- ... $19.99
Spaced out, synth heavy disco and new wave from the producer behind many of Sylvester's most popular tracks. As you might guess from the title, this is an early 80s electro future disco affair, with pulsating grooves, broad washes of synths and percolating rhythm tracks: "Tech-No-Logical World", "Invasion", "They Came At Night", "Mind Warp", "Primitive World", "Mutant Man" and "Goin' Home". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has a cut corner and small stickers.)

Aphex TwinI Care Because You Do ... LP
Warp, 1995. Near Mint- 2LP ... $16.99
The mid 90s classic from Aphex Twin – and one of the best, most furiously creative electronic albums of the era! I Care Because You Do is Richard D. James at his peak – sometimes frenetic, sometimes easygoing, always hypnotic beats – and some of the most entrancing ambient atmopherics that he's ever laid down. Wonderful stuff from an electronica pioneer – and one of of the most singular recording artists ever to come out of the ambient techno scene! Includes "Acrid Avid Jam Scred", "The Waxin Pith", "Ventolin (Video Version)", "Wet Tip Hen Ax", "Alberto Balsalm", "Mookid", "Next Heap With" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Recent reissue on 1972, still in the shrink.)

Aphex TwinRichard D James Album ... LP
Warp (UK), 1996. Near Mint- ... $16.99
Richard D James is still recording as Aphex Twin, but there's little reason to wonder why his name is the title of the album – this is the signature Aphex Twin record – his last and best album of the 90s! The beats are much more dizzyingly paced on this one than on the previous couple of major records – but the ambient waves floating over it are as hypnotic as any he'd ever put out. It's incredible stuff – as breakneck-paced and disjointed as the beats can be, it's somehow holds together thanks to the inspired craft of Mr. James. Titles include "4", "Cornish Acid", "Carn Marth", "To Cure A Weakling Child", "Goon Gumpas", "Girl/Boy Song", "Logan Rock Witch" and "Yellow Calx". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Aphex TwinSyro ... LP
Warp, 2014. Near Mint- 3LP Gatefold ... $39.99
The first proper full length album by Aphex Twin in more than a dozen years – and like all of his preceding efforts, he transcends all electronic music genre distinctions, delivering a sound that's distinctly his own – a sound that'll stand the test of time! Glance at the ultra-complicated track titles, and you might expect the strangest, most outre aural science of his career, but to the contrary, it's highly melodic and insistent stuff – finding him him working comfortably at home in his own canon, without repeating past glories. Excellent later work from one of the most consistently rewarding electronic music artists of the past several decades. It seems like Richard D. James doesn't ever bother to release his stuff if he doesn't have something great in the hopper, and Syro is indeed pretty great! "Minipops 67 [120.2][Source Field Mix]", "XMAS_EVET10 [120] [Thanaton3 Mix]", "[Produk 29 [101]", "4 bit 9d api+e+6 [126.26]", "180db_ [130]", "CIRCLONT6A [141.98][Syrobonkus Mix]", "CIRCLONT14 [152.97][Shrymoming Mix]", "Syro u473t8+e [141.98][Piezoluminescence Mix]", "PAPAT4 [155][Pineal Mix]", "Aisatsana [102]" and more. Flying LotusFlamagra ... LP
Warp, 2019. New Copy 2LP Gatefold ... $24.99 25.99
Fantastic sounds from Flying Lotus – an artist who just keeps on pushing past any conventional expectations, to a point where his music is almost a genre unto itself! The record's got this very tripped-out sort of vibe – very much in keeping with the image on the cover – and while many others are exploring this territory of late, few ever even get close to the right sort of mix that's going on here – subtle elements of soul, funk, jazz, hip hop, and maybe a million other influences – all flowing through the double-length space of the set, as it Flying Lotus redefines the sound of soul in the modern age. The set's got guest work from Thundercat, Shabazz Palaces, David Lynch, George Clinton, Anderson Paak, Little Dragon, Solange, and others – and titles include "Post Requisite", "Takashi", "Spontaneous", "More", "Burning Down The House", "Actually Virtual", "Find Your Own Way Home", "The Climb", "Debbie Is Depressed", "Black BAloons Reprise", and "Land Of Honey". Flying LotusYou're Dead! ... LP
Warp, 2014. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold ... $19.99
Flying Lotus is not only very much alive on You're Dead! – he's as lively as ever – delivering his best, most diverse record to date! The Flying Lotus sound is in peak form here – glitchy beats and spacey keyboards, deftly layered samples, and carrying boundless influences from cosmic soul jazz to leftfield hip hop! An impressive guest roster from both realms participate – with appearances by Herbie Hancock (!!!), Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, frequent collaborator and stylistic sibling Thundercat, strings arranger Miguel Atwood Ferguson and others. Standout moments include the tracks "Tesla" and "Moment Of Hesitation", both with some incredible keyboards by Herbie Hancock, plus the uber-moody, Ennio Morricone-sampled "Turtles" – but the whole thing is great, and shows that the Flying Lotus phenomenon is still in ascension, circa 2014. Other cuts include "Cold Dead", "Never Catch Me" with Kendrick Lamar, "Dead Man's Tetris" with Snoop Dogg, "Turkey Dog Coma", "Stirring", "Obligatory Cadence", "The Protest" and more. ✨✧ Prefuse 73Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian ... CD
Warp, 2009. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Prefuse 73 is in fine, psychedelic hip hop instrumentalist form on Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian – if you saw the cover art and feared some prog rock fever dream, you can relax – this is a hypnotic suite of kaleidoscopic and atmospheric soundscapes par excellence! The track list is 29 long, and mostly quite short – reminding is of Madlib's Beat Konducta series in that regard, but beyond that and the generally wordless vibe, Prefuse is an sound architect all his own. Whether stuttering, busily clattering sounds or hazy and more mesmerizing, there's a broad sonic palette here well worth exploring. Titles include "Periodic Measurements Of Infrequent Smiles", "NoNo", "Punish", "Rubber Stems", "Regalo". "Simple Look Choir", "Rour Reels Collide", "Pitch Pipe", "Violent Bathroom Exchange", "Sexual Fantasy Scale", "Digan Lo", "Periodic Measurements OF Infrequent Frowns", "Formal Dedications" and more. Walter JacksonNo Butterflies/Ad Lib ... 7-inch
Epic, Late 60s. Very Good ... $4.99
A monster – one of the rarest singles ever by Walter Jackson, and one of the best! "Ad Lib" is a fantastic track – sad, slow, and really politically conscious – with a lyric that's almost Marvin Gaye-like in its social consciousness, and which ends with Walter speaking a really bitter monologue about urban renewal! The cut's incredible – very different than any of his other epic work – and it's backed by another cool cut, "Ad Lib", which is recorded as if it's literally ad-libbed in the studio, as a sweet jazzy vocal number! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ NektarJourney To The Centre Of The Eye ... LP
Bacillus/Bellaphon (Germany), 1971. Very Good+ Gatefold ... $34.99
A classic bit of mainstream prog from Nektar – a group who were a big part of the German underground of the early 70s, but who also managed to make some waves on this side of the Atlantic as well! Nektar aren't as full-on or focused as some of the prog acts who cracked the charts at the time, but they do have a tightness that rivals some of the best of the up-and-coming groups to secure a major label contract – particularly deft musicianship that really stands out in its complexity, at a level that might draw some comparisons with Gentle Giant – although probably not as arty or obtuse, given that these guys could be a bit more straightforward. The set's got some especially great mellotron next to other keyboards and guitar – and titles include "Countenance", "Death Of The Mind", "Pupil Of The Eye", "The Dream Nebula", and "Warp Oversight". Not bad stuff, and typical of the many nice overlooked fusion sets that got cut for the Inner City label back in the day. Tony ScottBoth Sides Of Tony Scott ... LP
RCA, 1956. Very Good ... $4.99
Very nice stripped-down set by Tony Scott – one of the most overlooked reed players of the 50s, and an artist who ventured into much more hippy-dippy oriented material during the 60s. The set supposedly features "both sides" of Scott's work – but it's really only a simple batch of clarinet tracks, performed in the company of 2 different quartets: one with Mundell Lowe, Teddy Kotick, and Shadow Wilson; the other with Dick Garcia, Milt Hinton, and Osie Johnson. The guitar/clarinet sound works very nicely throughout –a nd titles include "East Coast, West Side", "Counterpoint Pleasant", "Star Dust", and "Cry Me A River". LP, Vinyl record album
