Rare early work from Piero Piccioni – music scored for a 60s film with Alberto Sordi in the lead – maybe a bit more conventional than some of Piccioni's later work, but still wonderfully groovy overall! There's lots of jazz in the mix, and there's a number of tunes that have a great ear for unusual sounds and phrasing – including some very weird organ at some points, and what might actually be prepared piano on the main theme too – occasionally mixed with straighter strings, but never in a way that leans too much into drama or suspense! If you know some of Piccioni's jazzier work from the time, you'll get the vibe of this one – and titles include "Scorpio In Libra", "Organ Grinders", "Firestar Express", "Ay De Mi", "Racconti D'Amore", "Minor Eva", and "Piano Grinders Mamboso".
