Super Session ... LP Enja (Germany), 1980. Near Mint- ...
Temporarily Out Of Stock
A well-titled super session from pianist TommyFlanagan, bassist RedMitchell, and drummer ElvinJones – and one with a bit more sense of surprise than similar all-star trio outings from the 80s! There's a looseness here that's a good antidote to some of the more tightly-produced Japanese trio sessions – by the Great Jazz Trio, Super Jazz Trio, and other groupings of American players – and Flanagan's touch on the keys is especially nice here, almost a bit more "human" than on other records – with an odd sense of tone and phrasing that keeps our interest throughout. Titles include "Too Late Now", "Minor Perhaps", "Rachel's Rondo", "Things Ain't What They Used To Be", and "Django". LP, Vinyl record album
(US Inner City pressing. Cover has a cut corner, a bent corner, and light wear.)
