These guys never stop being great! Organist/
keyboardist James Taylor has been a mainstay of the London scene for years – moving through a range of
styles over the years, but always staying true to his soul jazz roots, and his love of classic funky jazz. This album's a perfect extension of Taylor's late work with the Acid Jazz label in the mid 90s – particularly the more soulful tracks he cut with singers Noel McKoy and Alison Limerick, plus a few of the Johnny Hammond-inspired groovers that would show up from time to time. Yvonne Yancey sings lead vocals on most of the cuts, and the production
style has a nice bit of "space" – kind of an homage to 60s pop filtered through modern Brit sensibilities, one that also recalls a bit of the best jazzy moments of The
Style Council from their first two albums. Titles include "Outta Sight", "First Time", "Starship", "Send Me", "Mr C", "Leads Me Back To You", "TKO", "Chasing Dragons", and "Change Your Mind".
