Steve Miller BandBrave New World ... LP
Capitol, 1969. Near Mint- Gatefold ... $9.99
A brilliant standout in a late 60s world of blues rock – a set that goes way beyond what most of Steve Miller's contemporaries were doing at the time – to find a brave new world that's all its own! As before, the drums are key to the group's sound – harder and funkier than most of their contemporaries – with a propulsive energy that really pushes the group past any sort of sleepy cliches, and allows Miller to grab a whole host of other influences, and manage to forge them into the sound. Tim Davis is the mighty man on the kit – really kicking it throughout – and other surprising guests include Ben Sidran on guitar, and an appearance by Paul McCartney on one track too! Titles include "Space Cowboy", "Got Love Cause You Need It", "Celebration Song", "In My Dark Hour", "Kow Kow", and "Brave New World". LP, Vinyl record album
(Red label pressing. Vinyl is in great shape, but cover is stained and wrinkled at the bottom left corner, with light surface wear.)

✨✧ Steve Miller BandFly Like An Eagle ... LP
Capitol, 1976. Near Mint- ... Just Sold Out!
A masterpiece from the legendary SF rocker Steve Miller – and a perfect summation of the years of blues, soul, funk, and rock he'd been soaking up in the Bay Area scene – served up here with an edge that's still very firmly in place! Miller was already plenty great before this set, but somehow the record really pushes Steve into perfection territory he'd never hit before – able to cross over big with a few key tracks, but still have this sharpness in his guitar work and sense of charm that never seem to die! The album crossed over instantly with the massive cut "Fly Like An Eagle" – already great on its own, but supported here with the massive "Space Intro", which adds an extra minute of cool electronics to the tune – and other great cuts include the amazing funky rocker "Take The Money & Run", which has a break that never gets old – plus the hit "Rock N Me", and the cuts "The Window", "Wild Mountain Honey", "Sweet Maree", "Blue Odyssey", "Mercury Blues", and "Dance Dance Dance". ✨✧ Steve Miller BandGreatest Hits 1974 to 1978 ... CD
Capitol, Mid 70s. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
What can we say? The man's a genius! Steve managed to shake off his roots in the SF scene a lot better than most of his contemporaries – and he grew considerably during the mid 70s, picking up a heck of a lot of soul along the way, and earning some very well-deserved crossover spots on the charts. Includes the steppers and sample classic "Fly Like An Eagle", plus "Jet Airliner", "The Joker", "Jungle Love", "Take The Money & Run", and "The Stake". CD
(Still sealed.)

✨✧ Steve Miller BandSailor ... LP
Capitol, 1968. Very Good+ ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A classic set that really helps put the Steve Miller sound on the map – a wonderful blend of tightness and easy going energy that makes the group one of the greatest things going from San Francisco at the time! Some tunes have this burning quality that's completely sublime – while others still preserve some of the looser jamming energy that spawned the group – those heady waves of sound that Miller and Scaggs really helped filter down for a whole new generation! Titles include the brilliant "Living In The USA", plus "Song For Our Ancestors", "Dear Mary", "Quicksilver Girl", "Gangster Of Love", and "Overdrive". LP, Vinyl record album
(Rainbow label stereo pressing. Cover has light wear.)

✨✧ Keef Hartley BandBattle Of North West Six ... CD
Deram/Esoteric (UK), 1969. New Copy ... $14.99 20.99
A tremendous set from one of the best – and most under-recognized – groups of the British jazz rock scene at the end of the 60s! The group have an approach that mixes heavy blues-influenced jamming with some of the lighter, more lyrical touches that were showing up at the time – in a way that gives them a firmly grounded sound at one level, but also a slightly more sophisticated, contemplative approach – making the group almost a UK equivalent to the sound of the Steve Miller Band at the time. The jazzier tracks on the album feature work by some great straight British players – including Harry Beckett and Ray Warleigh – and the album's also got a few nice slightly funky cuts that are known for their breaks! Tracks include "The Dansette Kid", "Hickory", "Not Foolish, Not Wise", "Poor Mabel", "Believe In Me", "Don't Give Up", "Hickory", and "Tadpole". CD

✨✧ Graeme Miller & Steve ShillMoomins ... CD
Finders Keepers (UK), 1982. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The Moomins comics have delighted the world for generations – but fewer folks have seen the early 80s Moomins TV show – which is a masterpiece of felt-based, stop-motion animation! And while the images on the screen are amazing, the music for the program is equally great – spare, slow electronic numbers that have a beautifully playful vibe, but something of a dark edge too – maybe much more in the mode of more whimsical underground electronic work from the early 70s than you'd guess from the date of the show! The program was animated in Poland, and some of these tunes have a style that's similar to the coolest Polish electronic sound library material we've stocked over the years – although the musicians themselves were actually part of the post punk scene in Leeds. Titles include "Creepers", "Piano Waltz", "Leaving Moomin Valley", "Hobgoblin's Hat", "Traveling Theme", "Midwinter Rites", "Woodland Band", and "Comet Shadow". CD

✨✧ Steve MillerChildren Of The Future ... LP
Capitol, 1968. Very Good+ Gatefold ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The first moment of genius from the Steve Miller Band – a killer debut that also features a young Boz Scaggs as a key member of the group! Steve's the core star here, though – setting things up in this amazing blend of psych, blues, and hard rock – one that's easily a lot more ballsy than most of his Bay Area contemporaries at the time – really taking off on some propulsive rhythms, razor-sharp guitar, and cooking keyboards! Scaggs' vocal help is mighty nice – and titles include "You've Got The Power", "Pushed Me To It", "Junior Saw It Happen", "Baby's Callin Me Home", "Roll With It", and "Key To The Highway". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original rainbow label stereo pressing. A fantastic copy!)
