Geffen, 1991. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A record from a time when Siouxsie and the group were almost a cult unto themselves – working in an aesthetic that so many others were copying, but always with a voice that's strongly their own! It's clear that these guys don't need to try for any crossover club hits, or a more radio-friendly refinement of their sound – because by the early 90s, the legion of Banshees fanatics were more than willing to gobble up anything the group had to offer – which only seemed to have them rising more to the challenge, and continuing to produce strong work. Titles include "Drifter", "Cry", "Kiss Them For Me", "Silly Thing", "Got To Get Up", "Softly", "The Ghost In You", and "Little Sister". CD

Polydor, 1987. Used ... Out Of Stock
Siouxie & The Banshees pick up songs from a well-chosen array of other artists – including Roxy Music, Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, Television, and Billie Holiday – almost moving into that reworking-of-classics style that This Mortal Coil was using at the time – even though Siouxie's earlier work was probably a huge inspiration on that group and most of the 4AD acts to emerge during the 80s! The vibe here is similar to Tinderbox – surprisingly catchy at times, yet still with that balanced sense of drama that Siouxie could bring to her music – on tunes that include their hit remake of "The Passenger", plus "This Wheel's On Fire", "Strange Fruit", "Sea Breezes", "Little Johnny Jewel", "Hall Of Mirrors", and "Trust In Me". ✨✧ BauhausMask (3CD Omnibus edition) ... CD
Beggars Banquet, 1981. Used 3CD ... Out Of Stock
Classic work from a band with a name that hardly fits their sound at all – not the streamlined music you'd expect from a Bauhaus tag – and instead a fantastically fuzzy, muddy, dark-edged style that set the tone for countless other groups to come! Yet the approach here is all the group's own – still some of the intensity of the punk years, especially in the speed and execution of the songs – and maybe in the production, too – which has all the shadows of Martin Hannett at his best. And despite the way that these guys were taken up so much by goths in later years, they've got a straightforward style that maybe more appealing to fans of Bowie from the decade before – or maybe Bowie filtered through the UK post-punk years, with touches of Siouxsie & The Banshees. Titles include "Kick In The Eye", "The Passion Of Lovers", "Hair Of The Dog", "Muscle In Plastic", "In Fear Of Fear", "Hollow Hills", and "Of Lilies & Remains". Omnibus Edition includes lots of bonus material – singles, b-sides, alternate versions, and a 1981 live concert – plus a 48-page book! CD
