Preservation Project, Late 60s. New Copy ... $6.99 12.00
A rare slice of Philly – two unusual tracks by The Larks – a group who are different than the doo wop act of the 50s! "Another Sleepless Night" has this rolling romp of a groove – harmonies cresting over the top while piano tinkles along with the rhythms – a bit too fast to be a late nite group soul gem, but still very much in the same spirit! "For The Love Of Money" is not the O'Jays tune, but another track entirely – equally great in its east coast harmony soul approach – and with a similar sort of midtempo groove! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Note: originally announced as by an unknown artist – mystery revealed after the record was pressed!)

Nature Sounds, 2020. New Copy Gatefold ... $28.99
A strong little record that speaks its message right in its title – and which follows up with some inventive production touches that are sure to set Preservation apart from the pack! Much of the aesthetic here seeks to bridge a space between New York and China – using the melting pot of Queens as a strong springboard – sometimes with found snippets that address global issues, sometimes with slight instrumental flourishes that echo trans-Pacific culture – but all topped with rhymes from a variety of guests that really center the project in New York – contributions from Roc Marciano, YoungQueenz, Mach Hommy, Ka, Your Old Droog, Quelle Chris, AG, Grande Marshall, and others. Titles include "Rose Royce", "Medicine Drawer", "Lemon Rinds", "A Cure For The Common", "Mouth Of A River", "Money In the Wild", "A Scholar's Rock", and "Dragon Town". LP, Vinyl record album
