Sun RaPine Street Theatre – Oct 28, 1988 (2018 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
Jackpot, 1988. New Copy 2LP ... $35.99
A never-issued live set from the great last chapter in Sun Ra's career – that moment when the Arkestra was finally getting the global attention it deserved, and was working with even more confidence than before! During the period, Ra had this great way of folding in older strands of jazz with the group's always-creative vibe – swinging at times, soaring at others – and working with a larger ensemble here that includes Michael Ray and Eddie Gale on trumpets, Tyrone Hill on trombone, Knoel Scott on alto, John Gilmore on tenor, Danny Ray Thompson on baritone, John Ore on bass, and Bruce Edwards on electric guitar. Ra plays keyboards and piano,a nd June Tyson sings a bit – and Marshal Allen handles alto, piccolo, flute, and oboe. Titles include "Sunset On The Nile", "Space Medley", "The Shadow World", "Stardust From Tomorrow", "Blue Lou", and a few long improvisations! LP, Vinyl record album
(Previously unreleased! Limited edition of 2000 – pressed at RTI! Includes concert poster!)

✨✧ Soul MediaPainted Paradise/Breeze (2018 Record Store Day Release) ... 7-inch
Columbia/Sony (Japan), 1975. New Copy (pic cover)... Out Of Stock
Two funky jazz gems from Japanese reedman Jiro Inagaki and his electric Soul Media group! "Painted Paradise has right drums and a nicely choppy rhythm – arranged by Hiromasa Suzuki, who also plays Fender Rhodes on the tune! "Breeze" is a tune that begins with loads of excellent Rhodes fills – then flows into this slow-stepping funky groove that's perfect for the keyboards throughout! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Limited pressing!)

✨✧ EndIntrospection (plus bonus Retrospection LP) (180 gram translucent vinyl) (2018 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
Decca, 1969. New Copy 2LP Gatefold (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A nice batch of late 60s psychedelic from The End – a record with that mixes the catchy idiosyncrasies of post-Sgt. Pepper Lennon/McCartney with the headier elements of groups like The Creation and Barrett-era Pink Floyd! The album was championed and produced by the Stones' Bill Wyman and engineered by rock heavyweight Glyn Johns – but this very deserving record didn't get its due at the time – perhaps because Decca didn't quite know how to sell such a record. Tracks include "Dreamworld", "Under The Rainbow", "Shades Of Orange", "Introspection (Pt. 1)", "Don't Take Me", "Loving, Sacred Loving", "She Said Yeah" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes bonus Retrospection LP of outakes and bonus tracks!)

✨✧ T RexBolan Boogie (2018 Record Store Day Release) (blue vinyl – with download) ... LP
Fly/Universal (Italy), Early 70s. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A classic collection of key cuts from T Rex – almost all of which were written by the mighty Marc Bolan, who gets his fitting tribute in the title! The package stretches back to the earliest days of the group, and covers most of the best bits from their too-short career – and there's a definite groove to most numbers, in keeping with the "boogie" title! Tracks include "Get It On", "Jeepster", "Raw Ram", "First Heart Mighty Dawn Dart", "King Of The Mountain Cometh", "She Was Born To Be My Unicorn", "Woodland Rock", "Ride A Wild Swan", "Jewel", "Beltrane Walk", and "Dove" – plus their cover of "Summertime Blues". LP, Vinyl record album
(Blue vinyl pressing – with download!)
