Delicious Vinyl/Craft, 1992. New Copy 2LP ... Out Of Stock
The essential early 90s classic by The Pharcyde, the group's high water mark, and one of the greatest hip hop albums of the era! Along with Del and the Souls Of Mischief, the Pharcyde were one of the few West Coast units to achieve any kind of widespread popularity using the uniquely loopy, funhouse kinda of vibe of De La Soul, Black Sheep and Tribe Called Quest in their lighter moments. Features the classics "Passing Me By", "Soul Flower", "Ya Mama", "I'm That Type Of Ni@*a", "Officer", "4 Better Or 4 Worse", "Return Of The B-Boys", and lots more. LP, Vinyl record album

FatlipLoneliest Punk ... LP
Delicious Vinyl/ORG, 2005. New Copy (reissue)... $23.99 24.98
The debut solo set from Fatlip – a record that showed the world that he maybe had even more to offer on his own than as a member of Pharcyde! The title might seem strange, but it's a play on the name Thelonious Monk – and that sort of wordcraft is key to the album's strength – as Fatlip works with self-deprecating wit and occasional heart-on-the-sleeve confessionals – set to production by J Swift, Edy Crahp, and Squeak E Clean – and some occasional beats by the 45 King! Tracks include "Fat Leezy", "First Heat", "The Bassline", "Today's Your Day" feat Chali 2na, "Joe's Turkey", "I Got Sh*t", "Writer's Block", "MIA", "The Story Of Us", "All On A Fly", "Freaky Pumps" feat Shock G & Humpty Hump, and "Dreams". Justin WarfieldMy Field Trip To Planet 9 (180 gram clear & red vinyl pressing) ... LP
Qwest/Music On Vinyl (Netherlands), 1993. New Copy 2LP Gatefold (reissue)... $42.99 43.99
A great little record that never full got its due at the time – but which has gone on to get some well-deserved attention over the years! Maybe Justin Warfield was just a little ahead of his time – or maybe it was because his rhyme skills were a little short of getting him put over – but something kept him from blowing up in the way that he should have back in the day! Beat-wise this album's mining a vein that's not far off from some of the other left coast hip hop from that time that did make it – like the Pharcyde or some of the Hiero material – with a touch of smoked out influence that could be mistaken for the trip hop and acid jazz influenced sound that would hold sway a few years after this was released, but which is much more focused and pointed towards hip hop! An overlooked gem that's worth dipping into – with cuts that include"K Sera Sera", "Fisherman's Grotto", "Live From The Opium Den", "Glass Tangerine", "Cool Like The Blues", "Pick It Up Y'All", and "B Boys On Acid". LP, Vinyl record album

VisioneersMarc Mac Presents – Dirty Old Remixes ... CD
BBE (UK), 2007. New Copy ... $9.99 14.99
A trio of sound architect Marc Mac's hip hop-leaning Visioneers project tracks get remixed, redone and otherwise funked up by Jazzy Jeff, Terry Tester and others – adding up to nearly an hour of Visioneer hip hop/funk revisions! Rather than merely spinning out an album of remixes of tunes from the original Visioneers set, Dirty Old Remixes takes the unique and bold approach have having just a few titles done up several different ways each, and DJ friendly enough to include instrumentals. Jazzy Jeff, Terry Tester, Denz and Twelve Beats work some diverse grooves! The gem "Funkbox" is done up in a number of different versions: Jazzy Jeff remix (plus instrumental), Twelve Beats Return remix (plus instrumental), extended original mix (plus instrumental), Denz remix (plus instrumental). You also get "Replay" (Terry Tester remix, replayed and instrumental)" and "Runnin'" featuring Pharcyde (Visioneers mash and mash radio). CD

A huge dip into the history of hip hop – in a set that's something of a groundbreaking effort from the folks at the Smithsonian! If we're honest, we'll tell you that we're old enough to remember a time when folks thought that hip hop was just a fad – when it was a musical style that would disappear in just a few short years. But now, all these many decades later, the form has had such an impact on American culture that the Smithsonian Institute is giving it some official sort of due – something we never would have believed back in the 80s! The package is huge – 9CDs with a whopping 129 tracks in all, and a 300 page book that supports the recordings with an insane amount of notes, photos, and all sorts of other information – alongside a track list that was put together by folks who include Questlove, 9th Wonder, Chuck D, Jeff Chang, and MC Lyte! The set is especially great on old school tracks up through the golden era hip hop years – but also moves into the 21st century too – and artists include Treacherous Three, Afrika Bambaataa, Fearless Four, Cold Crush Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Run DMC, Fatback, Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow, Funky Four +1, T La Rock, Schoolly D, Beastie Boys, Kool Moe Dee, LL Cool J, Eric B & Rakim, Mantronix, Stetsasonic, Audio Two, Big Daddy Kane, MC Lyte, Marley Marl, Tone Loc, Jungle Brothers, NWA, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, 3rd Bass, De La Soul, Queen Latifa, DOC, 2 Live Crew, Dr Dre, Sir Mix A Lot, Digable Planets, Positive K, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Naughty By Nature, Black Sheep, Tribe Called Quest, Geto Boys, Pharcyde, 2Pac, Warren G, Gang Starr, Notorious BIG, and many many more! ✨✧ Diamond DDiam Piece ... LP
Dymond Mine, 2014. New Copy 2LP ... Out Of Stock
The first album from legendary producer Diamond D in years – and in a way, he's going back to his roots, in that it's entirely self-produced, unlike the multi-producer collaborative Hugh Hefner Chronicles – and he's in fine form! Diamond D has the cache to get a far-reaching roster of heavyweight emcees on board, and he's crafty enough to tailor his beats to their distinctive skill sets – and those guests include Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli, Freddie Foxx, Pharcyde, Kurupt, Fat Joe, Kev Brown and many more.
