Patrick AndyLiving In Mount Zion ... LP
Pressure Sounds (UK), 1977. New Copy ... $24.99 29.99
An unreleased album of sorts from roots reggae great Patrick Andy – tracks that were initially culled together by producer Yabby You in the late 70s, and which include a few never-issued tunes by Andy, plus rare stereo mixes of some other tunes too! If you know the famous title single that gives the album its name, you'll know the righteous vibe of everything else within – as Patrick's vocals have this quality that's very personal and very moving, as he works with bad-stepping rhythms that are great for his vocal versions, and the dubs that follow up most of the tracks. Titles include the unreleased tracks "Call On Jah", "Got To Give Some Help", and "Give Thanks" – plus a stereo mix of "Living In Mount Zion", and the cuts "You Don't Want Me (unreleased mix)", "Youths Of Today", and "Love Of A Woman Dub (unreleased mix)" – plus five more dub tracks too. LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ VariousTrojan Story (50th Annivesary Set) ... LP
Trojan (UK), Late 1960s/1970s. Sealed 3LP Box Set ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A huge collection of work from the legendary Trojan Records label – the crucial British imprint who helped bring the sounds of Jamaica to the London scene, then helped encourage a lot of new English recordings as well! Trojan was more than a label, it was a key cultural conduit back in the day – as important to musical migrations as those of its customers' own – as you'll hear in this massive collection of tracks from the label's glory days! The set is much nicer than just a "best of" – as it's full of unusual numbers mixed in next to the classics – a set of 50 tracks that includes "Give Me All Your Love" by The Continentals, "Tell Me Darling" by Jackie Edwards, "One Eyed Giant" by Baba Brooks, "Keep The Pressure On" by Winston & George, "Perfida" by Phyllis Dillon, "King Without A Throne" by Sugar Simone, "Rock Steady Train" by Ewan & Jerry, "Rasta Never Fails" by The Charmers, "Them A Laugh & A Ki Ki" by The Soul Mates, "People Funny Boy" by Lee Scratch Perry, "I'm In The Mood For Ska" by Lord Tanamo, "Satan" by Justin Hinds & The Dominoes, "Rough & Tough" by Stranger Cole, "Man To Man" by Kentrick Patrick, "Rudy A Message To You" by Dandy Livingstone, "Way Of Life" by Lynn Taitt & The Jets, "Every Night" by Joe White & Chuck, "Hong Kong Flu" by The Ethiopians, and "Nana" by The Slickers. LP, Vinyl record album
(50th Anniversary issue in the hardbound book, still sealed with hype sticker.)

✨✧ Fairport ConventionFull House ... LP
A&M, 1970. Very Good+ Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
A full house, and a strong change for Fairport Convention – working here without founder Ashley Hutchings or vocalist Sandy Denny – but finding their way forward through the new strengths of Richard Thompson! Thompson contributed more songs to this album than before, and also joins the lineup for a new vocal sound – one that, without any female singer in the mix, really gives the group a different feel than before – almost a fresh take on some of the territory they'd been moving through on previous records. The vocals are often understated, but in a way that gives the guitars, mandolin, and fiddle even more power – but in a way that's more rocky than folksy, and we mean that in the best way possible. Titles include "Poor Will & The Jolly Hangman", "Walk Awhile", "Doctor Of Physick", "Dirty Linen", "Sloth", and "Sir Patrick Spens". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original US pressing in the textured cover – with discoloration from age and lgiht wear.)
