Nicholas CarrasDate Bait (red vinyl pressing – with bonus DVD & zine) ... LP
Something Weird/Modern Harmonic, 1960. New Copy ... $18.99 24.99
A great little soundtrack from trash maestro Nicholas Carras – not one of the bigger names in mainstream cinema scoring at the start of the 60s – but in a way that really lets him take off and get creative with a record like this! The album's got a leadoff rock tune, some jazzier charts – ala Elmer Bernstein – and a mix of dramatic orchestrations with moodier, mellower passages – almost currents of exotica at times, all put together to create more than enough drama away from the images on the screen! Titles include "Teen Bleus", "Vegas Express", "Jazz Chase", "Fight", "7D", "Lover's Reunion", "High Spot", "Bluesy Mysterio", and "Gang Stalks Rick". LP, Vinyl record album
(Red vinyl pressing – with bonus DVD of the movie, and a zine too!)

Nicholas CarrasDoll Squad (green vinyl pressing – with bonus DVD) ... LP
Something Weird/Modern Harmonic, 1973. New Copy ... $23.99 24.99
A sexy little film, with a sexy little soundtrack to match – just the right blend of funk and crime modes you'd expect for a movie that was a precursor to Charlie's Angels! The Doll Squad were a lot trashier, though – and it really shows in some of the music here, which has a great early 70s exploitation vibe at times, and some surprisingly nice jazz currents at others – much more in the vein of some hip Italian work of the period, especially with the instrumentation. Most numbers are quite short, but the set features lots of these cool cuts coming together nicely, with a bit of dialog too – and the set includes the vocal number "Song For Sabrina" – plus "Jealous Lady", "Doll Squad Theme", "Big Boom", "Double Trouble", "The Big Switch", and "Freedom Beat". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes a bonus DVD of the entire movie!)

Larry Cartell/Nicholas CarrasGirl In Gold Boots – Original Soundtrack (CD/DVD set) ... CD
Glenolden/Modern Harmonic, 1968. New Copy ... On September 4, 2020
A very groovy soundtrack to a very groovy movie – a near-lost 60s exploitation flick that's got it all – biker gangs, go-go girls, and lots of mod rocking numbers to really fit the scene! The album's got a fair bit of straight 60s rock numbers – the kind of offbeat tunes you'd hear on some of those excellent AIP soundtracks from the same time – with vocals from Larry Cartell, and a mix of modes that moves between upbeat go-go tracks and moodier blue-tinged numbers – blended both with some larger arrangements that are in a more familiar soundtrack style, done by Nicholas Carras – and a few bits of dialog from the film – which spices things up in a very cool way! Titles include "Girl In Gold Boots", "Sin", "Knockin Boots", "My Carless Heart", "Everything I Touch Turned To Gold", "Do You want To Laugh Or Cry", "That's The Fool In Me", and "Jimmy's Girl". Very cool package – great graphics, and a bonus DVD of the film! CD
Also available Girl In Gold Boots – Original Soundtrack (gold vinyl pressing – with DVD) ... LP 23.99

✨✧ Nicholas CarrasMissle To The Moon (red vinyl pressing – with poster) ... LP
Modern Harmonic, 1958. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A schlocky film, but one with a great soundtrack – thanks to the low budget genius of composer Nicholas Carras! The music is surprisingly filled with rich elements – light strings at some points, rumbling percussion, vibes, and what seems to be some electronics – but which is really just an electric violin, run through a set of effects! The result is great, and the music has far more drama than you might expect away from the screen – maybe even more so, as it stands here as a top-rate sonic adventure, whereas the film might not make such a claim! Titles include "Rock Man Rock", "In The Caves", "Minds Over Men", "Sweethearts On Parade", "Do Or Die", "Leatha Level", and "Spider Monster". LP, Vinyl record album
(On "rocket" red vinyl!)

Modern Harmonic/Something Weird, 1962. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A very cool soundtrack for a very weird movie – an early 60s nudie film, but one that's a fair bit tamer and sweeter than material from later in the decade! The focus here is on the music – which is surprisingly well-done, and mixes jazz with exotic currents – often with a lot more thoughtfulness than you might expect, at a level that puts some of the best tracks here right up there with the best early 60s Italian noir jazz classics. Nicholas Carras wrote and conducted – but there's a tenorist on the album that really makes the whole thing great, someone who can play with the depth of Plas Johnson at his best. Titles include the eleven-minute "A Happy Turtle" – plus "Jungle Duck", "Three Sporty Ladies", "Petey's Sweeties", "The Happy Animal", "Animal Ambrosia", and "My Little Shasta". LP, Vinyl record album
(On yellow vinyl – plus DVD of the feature film, and a bonus zine too!)
