Only a small group, but one who play with the sense of fullness you'd guess from the "
ensemble" in their name! The music here is a blend of contemporary late 60s
rock with some more advance elements – bits of oboe and cello mixed in with the guitars and keyboards, used in ways that are subtle but really effective – almost giving the feel of a much larger backing behind the group. Some tracks are rootsy and stripped down, but many others have a full and spacious sort of quality – one that hints at much greater ambitions in the group, and which have them not content to just rehash regular
rock and
roll modes. Titles include "Kite Song", "Wait Until Tomorrow", "Sing Lady Sing", "Nel Cox", "Thinking Of Mary", "Aria", "Lazy Man", "Brandenburg", and "I'm Too Busy".
