Only a small group, but one who play with the sense of fullness you'd guess from the "ensemble" in their name! The music here is a blend of contemporary late 60s rock with some more advance elements – bits of oboe and cello mixed in with the guitars and keyboards, used in ways that are subtle but really effective – almost giving the feel of a much larger backing behind the group. Some tracks are rootsy and stripped down, but many others have a full and spacious sort of quality – one that hints at much greater ambitions in the group, and which have them not content to just rehash regular rock and roll modes.
