Naked Lunch, Late 50s/Early 60s. New Copy ... $18.99
Early work from the legendary Krzystof Komeda – recorded years before he was setting the Polish scene on fire with his inventive soundtracks and modern jazz – but at a level that's still pretty revolutionary overall! The album begins with material from a few different sessions recorded by Polish radio – all of them pretty great, and with superb sound – including one date from the late 50s that features a group with Jan Wroblewski on clarinet and alto, and Jerzy Milian on vibes; and one early 60s set that features great tenor from Bernt Rosengren. The set also features some live material from the 1961 and 1962 Jazz Jamboree festivals in Poland – the first of which has Rosengren again with the Komeda trio, the other of which features a Komeda trio with Rune Carlson on drums and Roman Dylag on bass. Titles include "First Etude From Jazz Ballet", "Ballad For Bernt", "Crazy Girl", "Cherry", "Temat Bez Tytulu", "That Second", and "All The Things You Are". LP, Vinyl record album
