Detto MarianoDelitto Al Ristorante Cinese ... LP
GDM/Musica Per Immagini (Italy), 1981. New Copy ... $36.99
A surprisingly nice score, done for a relatively goofy Italian comedy at the start of the 80s – set inside a Chinese restaurant in Rome, and handled with some definite Eastern touches in the instrumentation – but all mixed up in funky cop show sort of backings – almost an early 80s take on territory explored by Lalo Schifrin in Enter The Dragon! Obviously, the elements are a bit inauthentic – but given that the film's a comedy, we'll give them a pass – and note that they make a nice change from some of the more standard modes of Italian films like this of the time. The instrumentation's more 70s than you'd expect from the date of the film – and is usually somewhat warm, even when electric – and the set features a total of nine tracks from the movie – appearing here on vinyl for the first time ever. ✨✧ Franco MicalizziDelitto Sull'Autostrada ... LP
GDM/Musica Per Immagini (Italy), 1982. New Copy ... $30.99
A great 80s soundtrack from 70s cop/crime maestro Franco Micalizzi – still going strong here in the following decade, but with a leaner, more keyboard-driven sound that matches the shift of some of his contemporaries! Franco's still got a great ear for a cool groove – and the film is also a comedy, with the great Tomas Milian in the lead – but Micalizzi still keeps most tunes moving and grooving in a funky mode, with less of the nod to comedic themes that you might find from others at the time. Basslines and keyboards rule the tunes – and the set features 9 tracks in all, presented here on record for the first time ever! LP, Vinyl record album

Moggi (Piero Umiliani)News News News News News ... LP
Musica Per Immagini (Italy), 1979. New Copy (reissue)... $39.99 44.99
A really wonderful record from sound library wizard Piero Umiliani, and one that really takes its title seriously – as most of the tracks here have a very news-worthy sort of vibe! There's a fair bit of keyboards and electronics in the set – and Umiliani moves between numbers that seem to replicate the flow of data feeding into the newsroom or the sound of the presses printing up a paper – to other more melodic numbers that would be perfect as the theme for a late-breaking special alert! Instrumentation includes Fender Rhodes, Hammond, moog, and more – on titles that include "Telescriventi", "Prima Pagina", "Scoop", "Ultimissime", "Elzeviro", "Fatto Di Cronaca", "Rotativa", "Top Secret", and "Dossier". Ennio Morricone/Bruno NicolaiDimensioni Sonore (10LP red vinyl pressing & 10CD box set) ... LP
RCA/Musica Per Immagini (Italy), Early 70s. New Copy 10LP & 10CD box set ... $499.99 554.99
Fantastic sounds from Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai – a set of rare albums of more serious music done for RCA – very much in the darker spirit of their recordings with the Gruppo D'Improvvisazione Nuova! The music here is more avant compositional than some of Morricone's lighter soundtrack material – with especially strong work on strings, showing the way that the maestro learned his sense of offbeat tones and phrasings from the 20th Century classical scene, which he then applied famously to some of his horror scores of the time! The music here definitely has qualities that match the spookier soundtrack 70s material from Morricone or Nicolai – especially his move to horror at the time – and as with just about all of his recordings, there's a fair bit of unusual sounds and elements that are extremely hard to peg in terms of their sources. This amazing package brings together ten full albums of music – five by each composer – all originally issued by Italian RCA, here in their original covers and liner notes – in a special canvas bag designed for the set! LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition of 250 – in a new deluxe fabric-covered box, on red vinyl – also includes 10CDs, book, poster and tote bag!)

✨✧ Sandro BrugnoliniAbstract Forms – A Selection Of Electronic Moods & Atmospheres ... LP
Musica Per Immagini/Sonor (Italy), Late 80s/Early 90s. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Late work from Italian sound library giant Sandro Brugnolini, but great work too – a set that shifts a bit in the styles of instrumentation used, but which follows lots of the same dark passages that Sandro explored in the 70s! The keyboards and electronics are more digital than analog, but never have that cheesy, tinny sound of mainstream work from the time – proof that Brugnolini is a real master of sound, with an ear tuned towards bringing out the richest possibilities from his instruments! A few titles have a more mainstream soundtrack vibe, while others are in a more atonal mode – and titles include "Vapor Killer", "Barbarel", "Omen Nemo", "I Remember Sax", "Young Clan", "Baby Gang", and a number of titles dedicated to the Russian painter, variations on "Kandinsky".
