Mood Mosaic (Italy), Late 60s/Early 70s. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The cover's a bit cheesy, but the grooves are great – very much what we've come to expect from this long-running series that always serves up some great funky tracks! Mood Mosaic's been around for a long time, and they've got a great reputation for mixing together tracks you might not normally find on a compilation – not just standard soul and funk tracks, but some more unusual numbers from unlikely sources – which work together with the others to create a very cool vibe throughout! Titles include "The Build Up" by Alan Tew, "Balek" by Placebo, "Izzy Come Izzy Go" by Funk Revolution, "Silent Scream" by Dave Myers Effect, "Kulawy Wojtek" by Nibiesko Czarni, "Mr Deal" by JC Heavy, "Hakusha" by The Neopolitans, "Funky Chimes (parts 1 & 2)" by Soul Scracchers, "Cosmic Sea" by Mystic Moods, and "A Man" by Key & Cleary. ✨✧ VariousMood Mosaic Vol 16 – Hipsoulover ... LP
Mood Mosaic (Italy), 1970s. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
One of the coolest entries we've ever seen in this excellent series – a package that's heavy on rare funk tracks from overseas, most of which we're never likely to find on vinyl in our neck of the woods! There's a slinky, sexy groove to most of these cuts – very 70s, with plenty of sweet electric elements, and lots of keyboards too – and although the vocals are part of the sound, the strength of the cuts really lies in the instrumentation – especially on the longer numbers that really take off strongly! Titles include "Puutharassa" by Pekka Streng, "Ombilic Contact" by Atomic Crocus, "Erotica" by Agua Turbia, "Primitivo" by Hareton Salvanini, "September 13" by Deodato, "Dingo" by Olivier Despax, "Animal" by Farm, and "Psychastenie" by Serge Gainsbourg. ✨✧ VariousKeep Looking – 80 More Mod, Soul, & Freakbeat Nuggets (3CD set) ... CD
RPM (UK), Late 60s. New Copy 3CD ... $24.99 30.99
The mod sound of 60s London had a lot more to offer than just rock and roll – as you'll hear in this blistering collection of British R&B, soul, and blues-drenched tunes – mixed in with more familiar garage, early psych, and even a few post-colonial elements too! The package digs way way deeper than the usual "mod hits of the 60s" set – and features a stunning array of really rare singles we'd never heard before – all presented with great fidelity, and a heavy booklet that includes track-by-track notes on every single gem in the collection. Fuzzy guitar mixes with jazzy hammond, garagey grooves, and loads of other vintage touches – and the set features 80 tracks that include "Something's Coming Alng" by The Schepters, "Cornflake Zoo" by Andy Ellison, "Major Catastrophe" by Katch 22", "Summer Leaves Me With A Sigh" by Tuesday's Children, "Gimme Gimme Some Shade" by The Untamed, "Smokestack Lightning" by The Others, "I'm Leaving" by The Tribe, "Make Your Mark Little Man" by National Pinion Pole, "Touch Of Velvet Sting Of Brass" by The Mood Mosaic, "Archipelgo" by The Underground Set, and "Sookie Sookie" by The Valentines.
