A mighty pairing of funky talents – recording together in Estonia, with a style that really draws on the strengths of both musicians! "Mic Wallace" has some of the soundtrack vibes that ShawnLee can sometimes bring into his music – but given all these moody, almost spooky elements too – that nice current of darkness that Misha often brings to his own records! There's still a bit of darkness on "Miraggio" – but the tune is more upbeat, with some great funky drums – and a cool fuzzy, moogy keyboard like that's almost like Jean-Jacques Perry at his best! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Fantastic work from this very hip duo – two excellent funky talents on their own, somehow sounding even better in the company of each other! The tunes are lean, and almost have a sound library funk vibe – very hip, with a mixture of watery guitar lines, funkier riffs, sweet-stepping basslines and keyboards, and the right touch of acoustic percussion at the core to snap the groove in a perfect way! The record's one of the most understated that ShawnLee has given us in years – and we mean that in a good way – and Panfilov's ear for unusual production modes really helps the whole thing sound amazing. Titles include "Belt Buckle", "Deep Sea Oddities", "Synthpathy For The Devil", "Voodoo You Love", "Sigmund Jahn Bossa", "Aquaria", and "Volkwagenesque". LP, Vinyl record album
"Belt Buckle" is a groove that feels like it might have been lifted from some great French electronic sound library record of the 70s – heavy drums keeping things funky at the core, but all sorts of cool keyboards getting spacey over the groove – almost like the BBC Radiophonic Workshop cutting a funky 45! "Freaky Tiki Cafe" has some congas and other percussion at the core – while warmer keyboard lines cascade around the rhythms, and slowly set things up for some great sunny grooves! 7-inch, Vinyl record
There's all sorts of cool keyboards at the start of "Teledisko" – first like waves of sound from an 8-bit video game, then moving into a warmer Fender Rhodes style that's great for the heavy drums at the core! "Voodoo You Love" has a pun in the title, but a groove that's equally great – the sweet electric magic of MishaPanfilov meeting the funkier grooves of ShawnLee! 7-inch, Vinyl record

Another feather in the already-mighty cap of funky creator MishaPanfilov – a soundtrack, but one that's got all the same elements we love in his other music too! The groove here is maybe a bit more laidback than on some of Misha's heavy funk records – but it also represents all the more sophisticated turns he's taken in recent years – including his work with ShawnLee, which is partly a good match for the vibe on these tracks – given their sense of imagination and color! Make no mistake, this is still a mighty funky record – but more in the way that funk was used in slower-paced ways on overseas soundtracks in the late 60s and early 70s – in a mode that's heavy on keyboards and nicely-stepping rhythms, on cuts that include "In A Bar", "An Unexpected Meeting", "Smooth Road Home", "Expectation", "Tom's Sister", "Another Meeting", and "Rain (Full Stop)".
