MarvinHamlisch/Mongo Santamaria/Burt Bacharach —
April Fools ... LP Columbia, Late 60s. Near Mint- ...
$4.99
A really wonderful soundtrack, with loads of groovy tracks! The film stars Jack Lemmon, and the format of the record is similar to the Odd Couple – in that musical tracks are interspersed with dialogue, to keep the feel of the progression of the movie. Side one has some especially groovy moments, as Percy Faith and chorus perform a great version of Bacharach's "April Fools", which then leads into Mongo Santamaria's chunky groover "La La La", and "Wake Up" by The Chambers Brothers, which is one of their nicest tracks! Other tunes include the instrumentals "The April Fools", "I Remember The Rain", "The Safari Club", and "Peter's Pad" – plus "Sugar Kite" by California and "Flame" by Robert John. LP, Vinyl record album
(360 Sound stereo Masterworks pressing. Cover has a large patch of sticker residue on the bottom of the front and light wear.)

MarvinHamlisch —
Swimmer ... LP Columbia, 1968. Near Mint- ...
Out Of Stock
A great early soundtrack from MarvinHamlisch – quite different than some of his more famous work of the 70s, and filled with some wonderfully whimsical touches! The music was scored for a strange film that features Burt Lancaster "swimming" his way across a town – moving from pool to pool as he makes his way home – with a variety of scene and mood changes along the way! The journey is captured beautifully by Hamlisch in his music – with some especially great tunes that are light and jazzy, others that are a bit more sentimental, and a few more that have a starkly dramatic feel. Titles include "Lovely Hair", "My Kids Love Me", "Easy Four", "The Dive", "Lucinda River", and "Carnival". LP, Vinyl record album
(360 Sound stereo Masterworks pressing, in a slightly different cover variant. Cover has a promo track list sticker on the front, and some light wear.)
Includes 12 tracks by Terry Jacks, Jim Stafford, Black Oak Arkansas, Rick Derringer, David Essex, Stealers Wheel, Blue Swede, Mocedades, Redbone, Sister Janet Mead, MarvinHamlisch and Ray Stevens. CD
