Doris NortonNorton Computer For Peace (2018 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
Durium/Mannequin (Germany), 1983. New Copy (reissue)... $22.99 24.98
Doris Norton really moves out of the sound library shadows with this mid-80s set – a record that's got lots of tight electro-soul grooves – served up with plenty of beats, Roland keyboards, and even a bit of vocoder material as well! Doris works alongside Antonious Rex – who did more of the non-digital side of the record – and the duo create tight tracks in Doris' sound lab that would be right at home in some 80s action soundtrack, and maybe even as beats for the linoleum crowd on the streets! Titles include "The Hunger Problem In The World", "Don't Shoot At Animals", "Warsawar", "War Mania Analysis", and "Iran No Ra". LP, Vinyl record album

Doris NortonPersonal Computer (2018 Record Store Day Release) ... LP
Durium/Mannequin (Germany), 1984. New Copy (reissue)... $22.99 24.98
There's a very 80s-looking font on the cover, and the music has a very 80s-sounding vibe as well – very much in the mix of Apple computers and Roland keyboards pictured in the photo! The grooves are very home-grown – part electro-soul, partly in a mode that resonates with 80s keyboard soundtracks, particularly the horror variety – and tracks are tight and very tuneful throughout! Titles include "Personal Computer", "Norton Apple Software", "Binary Love", and "Parallel Interface". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition!)

✨✧ Michel Legrand/William KleinQui Etes Vous Polly Maggoo? ... 7-inch
WRWTFWW (Switzerland), 1966. Near Mint- (pic cover)... Just Sold Out!
One of the weirdest records we've ever heard from the mighty Michel Legrand – music written for a film directed by William Klein – who also wrote lyrics for a few of the tunes here! The title track – "Ballade De Polly Magoo" – is a weird sort of acid folk number with group vocals from Les Troubadours, who sing with this weirdly dark current – and vocals continue on "Hymne Du Prince", which mostly has unaccompanied female singers. Full orchestrations return on "Fanfare Hymne De Borodine", and on the flipside on two longer instrumentals "Magnificat" and "Cabine Des Mannequins", which both have sort of a deeper Legrand soundtrack vibe. The single also seems to have these weird snippets from the film at the end of each side! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(In the standard sleeve, still in the stickered outer sleeve.)
