A really sweet 70s soundtrack from the great Vince Guaraldi – one that's very heavy on electric piano, and which also has some other keyboards as well – delivered with a nicely intimate group on most numbers, in ways that almost take Vince back to the trio years of his earliest jazz recordings! Drummer Vince Lateano is fantastic – a perfect choice for those waltz-like rhythms that Guaraldi has a way of turning into modal jazz energy – often with light work on the snare that provides a nicely gentle groove on many numbers. And there's also lots of fresh compositions here – opening up the soundtrack past some of the more familiar Peanuts themes that were often reprised. Titles include "Heartburn Waltz", "Music Box Dance", "Woodstock's Mambo", "Paw Pet Overture", "Woodstock's Revenge", "Charlie Brown's Wake Up", and "Freddie's Mood". Also features eight more bonus tunes not used in the cartoon! CD

A wicked 70s soundtrack from Vince Guaraldi – and one that might help make just about any election go a lot more smoothly! There's a few tracks that maybe sound "electiony" – but much of the music is Guaraldi at his jazzy best, including a number of tunes that have Vince using the Fender Rhodes – which he did so wonderfully in later years! There's a few familiar Peanuts theme remakes, but there's also some great original tunes for the score – and a real highlight is the classic reading of "Joe Cool", with a vocal by Vince himself! Other tunes include "Blue Charlie Brown", "Incumbant Waltz", "Oh Good Grief", "Deserted Charlie Brown", "and Cookin Snoopy". Other instrumentation includes trumpet from a young Tom Harrell and woodwinds by Mel Martin – and the package features 25 tracks in all – including a number of unused bonus tracks. CD

One of the most obscure Charlie Brown soundtracks finally sees the light of day – a wonderful batch of grooving numbers that's in the best tradition of other material the great Vince Guaraldi wrote for the set of animated mini-features! The styles here move between some of the leaner trio modes of early Guaraldi Charlie Brown scores to some fuller numbers that resonate nicely with his shift to Warner Brothers – use of other elements that flesh out the tunes nicely, but never in a way that's too expanded, or without the sense of personality and inherent groove that makes Guaraldi so great! Most numbers are relatively short, reprising familiar older themes and mixing them with no ones – and titles include "Bus Blues", "It Was A Short Summer Charlie Brown", "Air Music", "Masked Marvel", "Linus & Lucy", "You're In Love Charlie Brown", "Love Will Come", and "Pebble Beach". CD features 6 more bonus tracks too! CD
