Acoustic duets between Larry Coryell and Philip Catherine – recorded with a style that's much more intimate and personal than some of the previous recordings by either player! Although Coryell first rose to fame at the end of the 60s with his fuzzy approach to jazz fusion, he's clearly mellowed here nicely with age – and has a nice sense of space and color, that's only further augmented by Catherine's always-great range of sounds and styles. Joachim Kuhn plays acoustic piano on one track, but all other information is from both players on 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars, plus a bit of work by Catherine on a fretless electric. Titles include "No More Booze", "Deux Xango", "Snowshadows", "One Plus Two Blues", "Father Christmas", "A Quiet Day In Spring", and "The Train & The River". LP, Vinyl record album

Compelling duets between guitarists Larry Coryell and Philip Catherine – a studio album recorded in London, hot on the heels of their performance together at the Berliner Jazztage! Although known for their electric musings at the time, both players work here mostly in an acoustic mode – creating beautifully intimate interplay without any other instrumentation at all – in ways that are mostly jazzy, but which also echo the evolution of the guitar during the decade in other genres as well. Titles include "Ms Julie", "Home Comings", "Airpower", "Twin House", "Mortgage On Your Soul", and "Gloryell". LP, Vinyl record album
