Krzysztof DudaKrzysztof Duda Live ... CD
GAD (Poland), 1984/1985. New Copy ... $9.99
Very cool sounds from Polish keyboardist Krzystof Duda – two long live tracks recorded in the 80s, but with this freewheeling spirit and sense of space that recalls 70s genius by better-known talents like Klaus Schulze or Jean-Michel Jarre! Duda plays a Moog Prodigy, which is especially nice – and has all these loopy lines that are completely wonderful – and also uses a Korg Polysix, Arp string ensemble, and a few other keyboards – but all with a sense of warmth that's very different than some of the leaner, tinnier 80s modes that you might have heard from other parts of the globe at the time. Titles include "Vivi Olim Homo" and "Radosna Medytacja" – both of which run well over 30 minutes in length! CD

✨✧ Wojtek MazolewskiWhen Angels Fall ... CD
Whirlwind (UK), 2020. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A really lovely tribute to the music of Krzysztof Komeda – the famous Polish jazz musician who also revolutionized the world of soundtracks, before leaving this planet all too soon! Komeda hasn't been around in decades, but his influence continue to shape new generations – and that's definitely the case here, as bassist Wojtek Mazolewski works with a group who definitely get all the original ideas in the compositions, but also find new, youthful energy for their expression – in a lineup that includes Oskar Torok on trumpet and electronics, Joanna Duda on Wurlitzer electric and grand piano, Marek Pospieszalski on tenor, and Qba Janicki on drums and percussion. Titles include "Le Depart", "When Angels Fall", "Roman II", "Sleep Safe & Warm", "Memory Of Bach", "Astigmatic", "Crazy Girl", and "Bariera". CD
