Keely SmithYou're Breaking My Heart (with bonus track) ... CD
Reprise/Real Gone, 1965. New Copy ... $12.99 13.99
A really rare 60s album from the great Keely Smith – one that was only issued in the UK, and which continued her strong solo run after splitting with longtime partner Louie Prima! But although the record was issued in England, the whole thing's got a rock-solid Reprise Records approach – the same top-shelf studio talents that were helping out Sinatra and his friends at the time – production from Jimmy Bowen, and arrangements from Ernie Freeman, Neal Hefti, and Nelson Riddle – on titles that have plenty of that Bowen 60s syncopation. Tracks include "The Wedding", "You're Breaking My Heart", "Look Again", "Going Through The Motions", "Turn Around Look At Me", "When You Cry", "I Can't Get You Out Of My Heart", and "Someday". Also includes a rare bonus demo of "Call Me" – which Smith did for Tony Hatch before he gave it to Petula Clark! CD
