Keyboardist JackyGiordano really steps out here – in an "organ plus" mode that also features work on a fair bit of other electric keys too! The style is nice and simple – tight, short tracks that follow the best sound library funk modes of the 70s – with plenty of elements that recall more famous soundtrack work for cop shows or crime films – delivered by Jacky with effortless ease on a shifting array of keyboard styles throughout the set! Some tracks have more of a moogy vibe, others are more Hammond-driven – and titles include "Hold It", "Hitch Hiker", "Riffologic", "Be Careful", "Hesitation", "Self Confidence", "May Day", and "Agitation". Fantastic funky organ from JackyGiordano – a European keyboardist who seems to sparkle in just about every style he tries on! The set's a sound library record, barely issued at the time – but Jacky treats the proceedings like he's trying to audition for some top-level jazz organ position – using some moments that have a Verve Records jazz approach, others that are lighter and more melodic, and others that rival the keyboard grooves of sound library contemporary Alan Hawkshaw! There's just a bit of rhythm on most tracks, and most titles are quite short – but Giordano packs a lot into a little – on titles that include "Coffee Or Tea", "Latest News", "Hey Taxy", "Easy Drive", "Interrogation Point", "Pheasant Moment", and "Beating Around". LP, Vinyl record album
One of the funkiest records of the French scene of the 70s – a now-legendary sound library album from JackyGiordano – and one that's filled with amazing keyboards throughout! Jacky stars with grooves that are like some of the best Lalo Schfrin crime/cop modes of the early 70s – then adds in all these excellent keyboard lines, plus a bit of jazz – with some cuts that have warm Rhodes-like lines, others with a spacier moogier groove – all instrumental, and all wonderfully funky! There's a developed depth to the record that goes way beyond just riffing on a groove – a richness that almost puts some of the best cuts at the level of longer CTI keyboard jazz. Titles include "Terefic War", "The Big Mameluk", "Moving Grooving", "Devil's Train", "Sex Girl", "Blue Circuit", and "Tabla Minor". LP, Vinyl record album
A great set of rare tracks recorded by French funk maestro JackyGiordano – originally released as part of a series titled "Timings" for the De Wolfe Sound Library – but with a groove that's way deeper than that stiff titled might make you expect! The tracks are tight and rhythmic, but do way more than just time off a groove – as they're filled with lots of jazzy touches on trumpet, guitar, tenor, and flute – often with one or two electric elements in the mix, alongside some very strong percussion and drums at the core! Lots of these cuts feel like some of the best funk tracks from a 70s cop or crime soundtrack – nice and lean, never too slick – and titles include "Alti", "Nuts", "Jumba", "Tablasse", "Pink", "Plink", "Golden Blend", "La Gigue Bleue", "Orient Express", and "Cool". An album with an ancient-looking painting on the front, but a style that's pure 70s – served up here in a keyboard-heavy style from sound library giant JackyGiordano! Jacky's given us plenty of funky records over the years, and this rare gem is definitely up with those 70s classics – lots of tight, sharp tracks – drums that crackle nicely, but with an approach to funk that's nicely changed up from the familiar – topped with these keyboard lines that have a very different flavor on each track, creating a strong sense of variety, usually just with a bit of bass in the mix as well! The album supposedly features help from contemporary Yan Tregger – and titles include "Acid Feerique", "Philopsis", "Fluid Man", "Steel Mongoes", "Jumbo Flash", "Callisto", "Supplice Form", and "Agartha". LP, Vinyl record album
Four fantastic sound library gems from the 70s – all directed by Yan Tregger, and featuring some mighty sweet keyboards from the legendary JackyGiordano! "Rieka" has this cool swirling sound next to the beats and wah wah guitar – unlike anything else we can think of – while "O'Seven" is tighter, more familiar keyboard-driven funk in the rhythm – but still with this totally great guitar part that gets all freaky and fuzzy! "Old Timmy" has a very groovy vibe – riffing guitar right along with the rhythms, peppered by drums – and "Gost" is harder, funkier, and has some cool clavi that really comes on strong! 7-inch, Vinyl record
