VariousInfracom 30 Years – We Couldn't Save The Planet, But We'd Still Like To Save Your Soul ... LP
Infracom (Germany), 2022. New Copy 2LP ... $22.99 34.99
It's hard to believe that the German Infracom label has been around for 30 years – maybe because the label was so future-thinking at the start, they helped set the tone for so much music to come! And if you're not hip to Infracom, the collection's a chance to dig the label in all its glory – as the set is filled with cosmic soul and jazzy club tracks that still stand as some of the hippest work to come from overseas in the past few decades – music that we've dug for years at Dusty Groove, served up in a package that really does justice to the label's legacy! Titles include "Freedom" by Gabriele Poso, "Hot Pot" by Mop Mop, "Who's Sorry Now" by Nekta, "Smoke & Regret" by Rime, "The Accessory" by Taxi, "Driver (Joash rmx)" by Matthias Vogt Trio, "Herbie's Delight" by Valique, "Love Is A State Of Mind" by Jhelisa, "Celebration Of Life" by Woodland Conclave, "You Can Dig" by Metropolitan Jazz Affair, "Tears" by Re:Jazz, "Calling" by Aromabar, "La Seule Fleur Dans Le Jardin" by Kosma, and "Something's Missing" by Dublex. ✨✧ JhelisaPrimitive Guide To Being There (limited edition CD & DVD) ... CD
Infracom (Germany), 2006. Used CD &DVD ... $4.99
A stellar batch of new century cosmic soul from Jhelisa – worth the nearly decade-long wait! Jhelisa has always seamlessly blended a soul jazz steeped lyrical and aural groove with more modern touches, such as very subtle electronics and hip hop era production tricks, and she's arguably doing it even better now, with more pronounced earthy and rootsy touches. A remarkable record from an incredible talent who doesn't record nearly often enough! Tracks include "Freedom Land", "Flute Band In Gauteng", "Culture Of Silence (Parts 1&2)", "Journey Of Life (In 9 Minutes)", "Love Is A State Of Mind", "Walking On Air", "Far I Have Come, Far I Must Go" and "Survivin' (In The Key Of Eflat)". Includes the bonus DVD One Week With Jhelisa – a 52 minute documentary that follows Jhelisa as she revisits her roots in the US, in the studio and more! CD

NativePrussian Blue (Nicola Conte jazz dance rework, orig)/Secret Language/Ciment Song/Step It ... 12-inch
Infracom (Germany), 2007. Near Mint- (pic cover)... $4.99 8.99
The title track from Native's great second album – served up here in a wicked new version by Nicola Conte! The core tune is already great – upbeat jazz with trumpet and alto sax in the lead – but Nicola re-records the track entirely, and uses his own quintet to cook things up with an even fiercer rhythm – one that really romps along in a blend of piano, bass, and snare that definitely have a Schema sort of groove! The EP features 3 more great tracks from the album – "Ciment Song", "Step It", and "The Secret Language" – the last of which features vocals from Cecilia Stalin! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Matthias Vogt TrioPianissimo ... LP
Infracom (Germany), 2022. New Copy 2LP ... $26.99 34.99
Beautiful sounds from pianist Matthias Vogt – an artist we first came to know through his Re:Jazz projects many years back, but who's evolved here into a much more personal, sensitive artist! In a way, the shift is a bit like that of Bugge Wesseltoft – another artist schooled in jazz, but who worked in clubbier modes – and here Matthias is mostly out front on piano and keyboards, with just a bit of guitar and drums for backing. The songs are maybe a bit more tune-based than some of Bugge's recent work, even though they are mostly instrumental – apart from a few moments when voices come into play. Titles include "Shimmering Sea", "Cargo", "Dystopia", "Afraid Of The Future", "Down To Earth", "I Remember Being Loved", and "Quintessence". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Re:JazzRe:Jazz ... LP
Infracom (Germany), 2003. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
Fantastic stuff – and a jazz remix project with a real difference! The difference here is that instead of taking older jazz tracks and re-doing them in dance music versions, the set takes original dance tracks and re-does them in jazz versions! The result is wonderful – a warm-voiced album that's one of our favorite releases of the year, and proof that there's a beating heart of soul in the hipster underground! The set brings together talents that are known for their work in bridging both worlds of music – and performers on the record include Till Bronner, Erik Truffaz, Nathan Haines, Matthias Vogt, and Oliver Bott. Instrumentation includes vibes, piano, trumpet, tenor, and lots of wonderful guest vocals – and the album features covers of "Cupid & Orlando" by Aromabar, "Release Your Mind" by Soulpatrol, "People Come Running" by Taxi, "Torch Of Freedom" by Cleveland Watkiss, "The Way I Swing" by DJ Matt, "Arena" by Kosma, and "Mental Strength" by Megashire. LP, Vinyl record album
