Karsten Vogel steps out here as more of a multi-instrumentalist than we might have guessed – still playing tenor, alto, and soprano sax on much of the record – but also adding in some keyboards, violin, and rhythm programs too! In fact, it's those programs that shape the sound more than we might have expected – creating this electric/
acoustic balance that makes the whole thing sound like some of the more inventive fusion efforts of the 80s – like the better material issued by Gramavision
Records, with a similar strong voice in the lead – and a mix of acoustic elements throughout. Vogel wrote, arranged, and produced – and titles include "Kyoto", "Montmartre", "Air Air", "Ouleeka", "No Time", "Lily & The Bird", and "Second Of May".
