Esther WilliamsInside Of Me ... LP
RCA, 1981. Very Good+ ... $4.99
A killer batch of clubby soul from Esther Williams – done with a great New York sound that' perfectly mixes funk and soul! Esther's maybe best known for some of her funky 45 material, but she sounds great here storming the modern dancefloor too – often coming across with a glow that's a lot warmer than you might expect for the early 80s date of the album! In fact, the whole thing's a great illustration of the way that the more underground club artists never moved too far from the soulful styles of the 70s, even when bigger chart acts were sometimes going more electronic. Tunes are nice and catchy throughout – and titles include "I'll Be Your Pleasure" (remixed by Larry Levan), "You Can Have It All", "You Can Use It", "Who Said It Was Wrong", "Ready For Love", and "Make It With You". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has light wear and a cutout notch.)
