These guys have a real 70s look on the cover, and they have a strong 70s sound within – a cool contemporary take on older spiritual jazz modes – done by a largeish ensemble who recall the glory days of Impulse Records at its best! We've heard from Chilean keyboardist Enrique Rodriguez
before – but in just a short space of time, he's really grown – maybe emerging with the force of Carlos Nino here, thanks to a wider musical vision that brings together saxes, flute, trumpet, percussion, and a nice range of voices – all used to augment the instrumental energy of the group at the core! And in case you're worried about Alice Coltrane rehash, don't – because there's a very original spirit here – that way-past-Coltrane territory that folks like Marion Brown or Michael White took their music in the 70s. Rodriguez
operates in equally strong, equally individual space here – on titles that include "Donde", "Descenso", "Vindakalla Welukan", "Acabar De Conocerse", "Paso Firme", and "No Quiero Seguir Asi".
