An instant classic from vocalist
Diana Krall – a set that takes her to new sorts of sophistication, thanks to the arrangements of Claus Ogerman, which really send things over the top! The title's a reference to a classic bossa tune from the 60s, the sort of material that Ogerman arranged famously for a range of classic singers – and here, he does an equally great job for the voice of
Krall, who also plays piano on the set in a small combo that features Anthony Wilson on guitar, John Clayton on bass, and Jeff Hamilton on drums. As you can imagine, there's plenty of bossa nova in the set, mixed with other material too – on titles that include "The Boy From Ipanema", "Walk On By", "Too Marvelous For Words", "Where Or When", "So Nice", "Quiet Nights", "Este Seu Olhar", and "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart".
