✨✧ Biz MarkieVapors (LP uncensored)/Biz Is Goin Off (dub)/The Do Do (bonus beats) ... 12-inch
Cold Chillin, 1988. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
"Vapors" is, of course, the mellow Biz classic off his first full-length LP, and probably the best use of the "Papa Don't Take No Mess" sample. "Biz Is Goin Off (dub)" is a nice echoey 6:30 minute reworking of the song with added beatboxing and scratching that aren't on the original. "The Do Do" is a track not on any LP, with a freestyle-type rhyme and shoutouts from the Biz. 12-inch, Vinyl record
(Original pressing in a Cold Chillin sleeve.)

Cold Chillin/Warner, 1993. Used ... Out Of Stock
Biz's last album for Cold Chillin', before semi-retiring from the scene for a couple of years. As you'd guess from the title, the Biz is smarting a bit from the brouhaha over "Alone Again", but the album's still filled with his typical madness, which to us, is a good thing! 12 tracks in all, including "I'm The Biz Markie", "Young Girl Bluez", "Let Me Turn You On", "Bad By Myself" and "Funk Is Back". CD

Cold Chillin, 1988. Used ... Out Of Stock
The Juice Crew at it's best with Marley Marl twisting the knobs – the Cold Chillin classic from MC Shan! Born To Be Wild is the middle effort in a trio of great, and at this point underappreciated album MC Shan cut for Cold Chillin, leaving a pretty solid legacy if strong mid 80s rap with dynamite Marley Marl production! Titles include "We Used To Do It Out In The Park", "Juice Crew Law" and "I Pioneered This". Cassette

Quincy JonesIn Cold Blood – Original Soundtrack ... LP
Colgems, 1968. Very Good+ ... $19.99
There's some pretty great moments in Quincy Jones' original score to the film version of Truman Capote's chilling book – most of them in a darkly tinged crime jazz mode, with flowing, complicated orchestrations that are mixed with breakout solos, and some very strangely arranged instrumental elements – almost more in some of the territory of Kenyon Hopkins, and some of his more dramatic jazz scores of the 60s! Titles include "In Cold Blood", "Seduction", "Down Clutter's Lane", "Murder Scene", "The Corner", "Lonely Bottles", and "No Witnesses". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original stereo pressing with deep groove.)

✨✧ Porter WagonerRubber Room – The Haunting Poetic Songs Of Porter Wagoner 1966 to 1977 ... CD
RCA/Omni (Australia), Late 60s/1970s. Used ... Out Of Stock
The most left-of-center collection of cuts from rhinestone studded honky tonk purist Porter Wagoner – some of the darkest and strangest tunes pulled from his most adventurous RCA LPs! Porter is eternally true to a genuine honky tonk aesthetic – but his arrangements are never predictable – bringing in some chilling strings and a backing vocal wail, walloping drums and wacka wacka electric guitars chugging underneath the steel. This is his most lyrically troubled batch of tunes from the era, but they're often done with a wink and a nod that lets you know he's just telling a story (or is he?) – not unlike Lee Hazlewood. Oddball country groove from a character that should be as fondly regarded as his more scenester friendly peers! 29 tracks in all: "Out Of The Silence (Came A Song)", "The Rubber Room", "Cassie", "Bones", "Lonelyville", "First Mrs Jones", "The Cold Hard Facts Of Life", "Shopworn", "Julie", "Carroll County Accident", "Wino", "He's Alone Again Tonight", "My Last Two Tens", "The Party" featuring Dolly Parton, "Moments Of Meditation" and more. ✨✧ RaekwonOnly Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt 2 ... LP
IHR, 2009. Near Mint- 2LP ... Out Of Stock
The long awaited Cuban Linx Pt 2 from Raekwon – and one of those late model Wu Tang efforts that reminds us of how vital the Wu Tang were in their prime, as well as how sharp the still are when the moons align and the pieces fall into place! OBFCL Pt 2 is indeed one of those rare newer Wu sets that stands up proudly with the first wave. Sure, it's might not be an eternal classic, but the best stuff here is incredible. Rugged & raw, with intricate crack game noir from a master. 22 tracks in all: the bone chilling J Dilla beat backed gem "House Of Flying Daggers" feat Inspectah Deck, Ghostface and Meth, "Sonny's Missing" (produced by Pete Rock), "Cold Outside" feat Ghostface, "Black Mozart" feat RZA & Inspectah Deck, "Catalina" feat Lyfe Jennings and "About Me" (both produced by Dr Dre), "We Will Rob You" feat Slick Rick, Masta Killa & GZA, "Kiss The Ring" feat Inspectah Deck & Masta Killa, "10 Bricks" feat Cappadonna & Ghostface and many more. LP features two bonus tracks; "Walk With Me" & "Badlands". LP, Vinyl record album
