Stelvio CiprianiScorticateli Vivi (Skin Em Alive) (with bonus tracks) ... CD
CAM/Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1979. New Copy ... $22.99
Stelvio Cipriani at his funkiest – taking all the lessons learned from his slinky, erotic sounds of the early 70s – and turning them into a mix of sweet sounds with a great late 70s vibe! Some tracks are upbeat and almost have a clubby feel, others have a great slow-stepping approach to funk – and there's a few others that are moodier, mellower instrumentals – of the sort that Stelvio first rose to fame with – but often with as much acoustic elements and percussion as his usual sweet keyboard work! Titles include the previous single – "Chicago USA" and "Percussion Gun" – both very funky tracks with a similar theme – mixed with lots of other unreleased numbers, including "Spanish Nights In Black Satin", "Lyonesse", "Changing Face", "Chicago USA 2", The Predator", "Crazy Town", and a number of other tunes with variations on the title "Scorticateli Vivi". Stelvio CiprianiSolamente Nero ... CD
Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1978. New Copy ... $19.99
One of the darkest soundtracks we've ever heard from Stelvio Cipriani – a set that has some of the sweeter, more erotic touches of his other 70s work – but which also features a colder, electronic undercurrent as well – a very creepy style that's very much in the Halloween genre of film scoring! Cipriani's approach here is somewhat different than that of his Italian contemporaries – a bit less iconic, and willing to change things up a bit from time to time. But there's also some undeniably strong themes that run through the music too – including one swirling bit of dark analogue synth that almost feels as if it was pulled from some early 80s British industrial album. CD features wonderfully remastered sound – and features a 22 titles that include "L'Ossessione", "La Dolce Sandra", "Lettere", "Gli Inganni", and "Incubi Riccorrenti". CD

Guido & Maurizio De AngelisIl Grande Racket (with bonus tracks) ... CD
Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1976. New Copy ... $19.99
Fierce funky sounds from Guido & Maurizio DeAngelis – a duo who turned out some of the grooviest music on the Italian cop/crime scene of the 70s! The set's a killer right from the very first note – full of fuzz and funk, and lots of heavy rhythms at the bottom – all in a mode that's free from some of the disco touches that came into Italian cinema a few years later – and served up in these short, sharp tunes that pack a hell of a lot of punch into a very short space! The basslines are nicely offbeat – never just copping an American funk mode, but instead in this very driving, dramatic Italo-crime mode that's totally wonderful – that sense of urgency that can only come from a rooftop fight in Rome, or a car chase down the streets of Milano. Titles include "Caccia All'Uomo", "Visioni", "Il Grande Racket", "Ultimo Inseguimento", "The Taste Of Love", and "Seconda Allucinazione". CD features lots of bonus tracks – 37 titles in all! CD

Riz OrtolaniSi Puo Essere Piu Bastardi Dell'Ispettore Cliff (with bonus track) ... CD
Sugar/Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1973. New Copy (reissue)... $22.99
A fantastic funky soundtrack from Riz Ortolani – quite different than some of his bigger hits of the 60s, and full of heavy basslines and lots of great drums! The style here is in the best cop/crime mode of the time – but has even more blacksploitation grit at the bottom than the usual Italian work of the period – with a rawness that really rivals some of the best funky scores by Americans like Johnny Pate or Don Julian – although overall, there's maybe an even higher funk quotient to this record than some of their classics! Take it from us – we're not ones to casually use terms like this – and we really mean it when we say that this rare Italian gem from 1973 might well have you putting aside your copies of Shaft, Superfly, and Black Caesar! CD features the bonus track "Romance Anonimo" – plus 19 more tracks from the film. CD

✨✧ Stelvio CiprianiEcologia Del Delitto (Bay Of Blood) (with bonus tracks) ... CD
Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1971. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
One of the coolest 70s soundtracks from the great Stelvio Cipriani – served up here with a huge amount of bonus tracks too! The music here was scored for a Mario Bava horror film, but it often has a quality that's more lean and lovely overall – that current of sex that we always love in Ciprani's best work, and which made him a key force for transforming the Italian bossa and jazz soundtrack style of the 60s into something completely new for the 70s! There's a lot of sweet keyboards in the music – as you'd expect from Stelvio – but there's also some cool rootsy percussion, which creates a nice juxtaposition between acoustic and electric, especially as things get a bit spookier near the end. Titles include "Ultimo Atto", "Solitudine Di Simone", "Teenagers Cha Cha Cha", "Due Amanti", "Evelyn Theme", "Shake Giradischi", and "Un Cadavere Nel Lago". CD features 31 tracks in all – including 11 never-issued bonus tracks! CD

✨✧ Stelvio CiprianiBuitres Sobre La Ciudad (Avvoltoi Sulla Citta) ... CD
Chris' Soundtrack Corner (Germany), 1980. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
The cover's black and white, but the music is very colorful – sweet 70s sounds in the best style that we love from Stelvio Cipriani – which includes some especially great use of keyboards and piano! Many of these tracks have that mellow funk mode that really set Cipriani apart from the rest of the 70s Italian scene – tracks that can move slow, yet still have a nice punch – thanks to great use of electric basslines, and just the right space on the keyboards! The CD is done in the usual super-high quality that we love from Chris Soundtrack Corner – with excellent sound, great packaging, and a total of 21 tracks from the original score. CD
