Cheryl LynnIt's Gonna Be Right (with bonus track) ... CD
Columbia/PTG (Netherlands), 1985. New Copy ... $7.99
Cheryl Lynn's punching up her sound a bit here – working with Hubert Eaves, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and even some of her own productions – in a style that's got a heavier sort of 80s groove than earlier albums, but still mighty nice – and a great change from the disco of her earlier years! Lynn's vocals, as always, are totally top-shelf – more than bold enough to soar over whatever groove she'd choose – although in this case, the groove is right on the money – definitely as right as the title implies! Titles include "Fade to Black", "Find Somebody New", "Let Me Love You", and "Love's Been Here Before". CD features the bonus track "Fidelity (12" version)". CD

Chuck MangioneSave Tonight For Me ... LP
Columbia, 1986. Near Mint- ... $5.99
The soulful side of Chuck Mangione – a set that still features plenty of lead solos from Chuck, but which also brings in some fuller backings that have a contemporary R&B vibe overall! Most numbers are still instrumental – although there's a bit of vocals on the set – and as with other Mangione records from previous years, keyboards are often the other key element in the mix – an instrument that Chuck's learned to solo with in a really sweet way. Titles include "Machu Picchu", "Rockin At Red Rocks", "Sweet Cheryl Lynn", "Give Your Heart A Chance", and "TJ's Gingerbread House". LP, Vinyl record album
