ParliamentGloryhallastoopid – Or Pin The Tale On The Funky ... CD
Casablanca, 1979. New Copy ... $5.99 6.98
An overlooked later gem from Parliament – a set that's very tight and funky, and which really picks up the groove first laid down on "Flashlight"! There's a tightly snapping approach here that rivals the best late 70s work by Funkadelic – the later P-Funk mode that's even more focused on rhythms than before, and which gets away from the sloppy stuff to really hit home with the groove! Tunes are steeped in horny horns, wah wah guitar, and lots of electric keyboards – and titles include "The Big Bang Theory", which is virtually a blueprint for the LA G-funk sound of the 80s – plus the tracks "The Freeze", "May We Bang You?", "Party People", and "(GloryHallaStoopid) Pin The Tail On The Funky". CD
Also available Gloryhallastoopid – Or Pin The Tale On The Funky ... LP 9.99

McCoysHang On Sloopy ... LP
Bang, Mid 60s. Very Good- ... $11.99
Slammin party rock from The McCoys – a garagey group with a sound so catchy, they managed to catch on big on both sides of the charts! The group's well-known title hit is in the lead of this set – but the whole thing's plenty darn groovy, with a tight style that mixes together equal parts rock and soul – and which still maintains a rough kind of energy that must have made these guys great to see live! Titles include "Papa's Got A Brand New Bag", "All I Really Want To Do", "I Don't Mind", "Fever", "If You Tell A Lie", "Hang On Sloopy", "High Heel Sneakers", and "Stubborn Kind Of Fellow". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original mono pressing on heavy vinyl.)

✨✧ StrangelovesI Want Candy (red vinyl pressing) ... LP
Bang/Real Gone, 1965. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
An all-out party rock classic – a record that's titled after the one huge hit by The Strangeloves, but which has killer cuts throughout – a set that's filled with heavily percussive, hard-jamming numbers that really keep the pace moving! The group seems to use a lot more bass drum than most of their contemporaries – a whomping bottom that gives them a lot more power than a trio – and mixed with their trademark rasping guitar sound, the result is something fantastic! There's a lot of heavy power to the set – a standout even from some of the other Australian acts of the period – and the chanted lyrics make the tunes even more compelling. Includes their huge hit "I Want Candy", plus "Night Time", "Just The Way You Are", "It's About My Baby", "No Jive", and "Cara Lin". LP, Vinyl record album
(Limited edition of 1000 – on "candy apple" red vinyl!)

Pete TerraceKing Of The Boogaloo ... LP
Somerset, Late 60s. New Copy (reissue)... $9.99
Pete Terrace challenges Pete Rodriguez for the title of "King Of The Boogaloo" in this live set recorded at Chez Jose in New York! The album's got a few tracks that say boogaloo, but which aren't – but that's still ok with us, because the bulk of the set is a hard grooving batch of uptempo groovers that would make anyone proud – and the record's easily one of Pete's best from the 60s! Includes covers of "El Pito", "At The Party", and "Bang Bang" – plus Marty Sheller-penned originals like "Do The Boogaloo", "I'm Gonna Make It", "Here Comes Pete", and "No! No! No!". Pete's vibes sound mighty nice, and the pianist in the group is nice and firey! LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ VariousRewind! 6 – Original Classics Re-Worked, Remixed, Re-Edited, & Rewound ... LP
Ubiquity, 2015. Near Mint- 2LP ... Out Of Stock
It's been almost a decade since the previous volume in the legendary Rewind series – but given the quality of the music, it's definitely been worth the wait! This edition may well be the coolest so far – as it really offers up some fresh versions of old school classics from the 60s and 70s – funky remakes of songs by Lyn Collins, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, James Brown, Turtles, and others – and even some more modern songs from Outkast and Skrillex too. Almost all numbers approach the music in a heavy funk style – sometimes with vocals, sometimes just instrumental – and titles include "Give It Up Or Turn It Loose" by Black Randy, "Party People" by The Echocentrics, "Bang Bang" by The Monophonics, "Rock Your Body" by Shawn Lee, "Date With The Rain" by Frankie Gee, "Planet Caravan" by Brown Sabbath, "Happy Together" by James Combs, "Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites" by Jed & Lucia, "Spill The Wine" by Johnny Frigo, "Apache" by Shawn Lee's Incredible Tabla Band, and "Dreams" by Electric Peanut Butter Company.
