AtmosfearDancing In Outer Space ... CD
Sequel (UK), 2000. Used ... $12.99
An amazing album of spacey dancefloor tunes – and the first-ever proper reissue of work by the legendary UK outfit Atmosfear! Atmosfear had a revolutionary electronic disco sound that's probably best compared to the Patrick Adams or Cloud One work for the P&P label in the US – and the tracks on this set sparkle with splashy beats, tranced-out keyboards, flipped-up bass, and nice jazzy riffs to keep the whole thing in a soulful mode. If you've never heard the group, this one will blow your mind – and if you only have one or two of their original tracks on other compilations, you'll appreciate all the previously unreissued tracks on this 10-song set! Titles include "Outer Space", "Motivation", "Extract", "Alternative II", "Extra Special", "Interplay", "Return of LB", and their classic "Dancing In Outerspace", laid out in the full 9 minute 12" version! ✨✧ AtmosfearEn Trance ... LP
Mr Bongo (UK), 1979. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Some of the greatest club tunes ever cut for the UK scene – a sublime album of jazzy spacey instrumentals by the legendary Atmosfear! The group were almost a UK equivalent of the sounds coming out of New York from the P&P camp at the end of the 70s – as they worked in the shadows of mainstream disco, but with a sound that was leaner, more stripped-down, and often touched with keyboard styles borrowed heavily from jazz funk and fusion. There's a simplicity to the Atmosfear groove that's totally great – a real focus on snapping drums, spacey keyboards, and trippy basslines – never too complicated, but always a cut above the more familiar grooves of the time. Includes "Free Tonight", "Duende", "Creators Dream", "Interplay", "Funk The Rock", "Invasion" and "Return Of LB". LP, Vinyl record album

Cloud One & OthersVery Best Of Cloud One plus Bonus Tracks ... CD
Queen Constance, Late 70s. Used 2 CDs ... $9.99
Get ready to Disco Juice it up! This excellent 2 CD set features a huge batch of excellent tracks from the legendary P&P Records – the spacey disco imprint that's gotten a lot of recognition lately for its groundbreaking work during the late 70s. This cool 2 CD set focuses on the work of the label's biggest act, Cloud One, and it also includes remixes of tracks by a number of other artists on P&P and related labels. CD one features all of Cloud One's excellent self-titled LP – including the original mixes of "Spaced Out", "Atmosfear Strut", "Disco Juice", and "Dust To Dust". It also features 5 tracks from The Funky Disco Tracks Of Cloud One – including "Happy Music", "Jump Jump Jump", "Funky Track", and "Music Funk" – which are equally excellent, and even harder to find. Then, CD two features 12" versions of work by Cloud One and others – so that you've got versions of tracks that have been reissued on 12" before, like the "Atmosphere Strut" remix, plus "Disco Juice", "Going To A Disco Tonight", "Out Of Work", "Patty Duke", "Ain't It Time", and "Got You Dancing". Great stuff, and with 19 cuts in all! CD

Soul Jazz (UK), Mid 70s-Early 80s. Used ... Just Sold Out!
Leave it to Soul Jazz to assemble another fine selection of grooves, bringing together a great batch of slick, jazz-inflected British disco tracks! It's the mid 70s and disco's four on the floor beat is starting to invade every part of the world, including the UK. The set's a wonderful cross section of songs, with nice less-heard nuggets by groups that hit it big in the charts like Heatwave's "Put The Word Out" and Imagination's "Burning Up", to loft classics like Atmosfear's "Dancing In Outerspace" and smooth soulful cuts like the Real Thing's "Children Of The Ghetto/Stanhope Street". A baker's dozen of crisp, modern jazz funk is included, with Soul Jazz's great attention to detail in every aspect of the package, including a nice set of liner notes that really puts everything in perspective. Other tracks include Hi Tension "British Hustle", the Olympic Runners "Solar Heat", Kandidate "What Are You Gonna Do?", a pre-Arthur Baker track from Freeez, "Southern Freeez", Central Line "Don't Tell Me", Gonzalez's fusion-y "Saocco", Light Of The World "London Town", Beggar & Co "Somebody Help Me Out" and FbI's "Talking About Love" with a few nice disco breaks in it!
