A surprisingly nice record from one time Fug and session guitar giant Danny "The Kootch" Kortchmar – done for Asylum
with a sound that moves from punchy power pop, to more measured singer songwriter stuff, in the vein of Jackson Browne and Warren Zevon – both of whom the Kootch had worked for. As was the case with other Asylum
records at the end of the 70s/
start of the 80s, the production can be a little too much of the era, but the songs are really strong and Danny just doesn't get enough recognition for his work as a headliner. Solid and tuneful! Titles include "You And What Army", "Lost In The Shuffle", "Killer's Kiss", "Ghost Of Errol Flynn", "Endless Sleep", "Innuendo", "Ego Tripper", "I Starred In That Movie", "Hair Of The Dog" and "When The Eagle Flies".
