✨✧ Aaron AbernathyDialogue ... LP
Aaron Abernathy, 2017. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Aaron Abernathy really grabbed us with his debut – and on this second set, he's maybe even tighter and more his own self than before – moving past the guests who helped draw attention to the previous record, and really standing strongly in the spotlight on his own! Aaron composed, produced, and arranged the whole set – but what's most important is his voice – this kind of crackling sound that demands attention, and which really has the kind of urgency to fit the lyrics of his songs – which again, maybe feel even more his own than before! Instrumentation is nice and lean – often strong on drums from the man himself, plus a bit of keyboards – augmented by some extra bass and percussion, but kept with this sharp focus that really matches the needs of the tunes. Abernathy's the kind of soul singer who should be huge – if there was any justice in the world – and we're hoping this second set is really the start of a path to greatness. Titles include "Children Of The City", "Human Action Matters", "Generation", "Restrictions", "Now A Days", "The Villain In Me", and "Daily Prayer". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Aaron AbernathyEpilogue ... CD
Aaron Abernathy, 2019. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
The deepest, most personal album to date from Aaron Abernathy – and that's saying a lot, given how much we loved his previous two records! As you might guess from the title, the set's a capper to his debut trilogy – but it also seems to begin more chapters than it ends – really bursting forth with this open, honest, and positive energy that has Aaron's vocals and keyboards sharing equal space in the limelight – all with that crisp, contemporary vibe that's made him one of the best rising stars in the world of underground soul. Titles include "Hers", "Noelle", "Ours", "Complexities", "Song & Dance", "Sucka 4 You/Facts Only", "Time Bomb", "Lonely Nights", and "Vent Of Love". CD

✨✧ Columbia NightsIn All Things ... LP
Record Breakin, 2016. Sealed ... $14.99
We waited years for the full length debut of Columbia Nights, and not only was it worth the wait, it's a stunner – a beautiful batch of timeless spacey soul! Essentially the multi-instrumentalist trio of John E Daise, Jason "Brotherspanky" Edwards and Hayling Price, they have really expansive sound – built from bass, synths, keys, percussion that lifts it to cosmic heights – in a perfect mix of atmospheric instrumentals and vocal-led tracks. The sound carries influences from soaring 70s soul jazz, to post millennium electronic soul – which mingle seamlessly, and carry a real depth of genuine soul, however spacey the composition! The guest vocalists are top notch, including Diggs Duke, Aaron "AB" Abernathy, Vaughan Octavia and others, and titles include "Sphere", "Cerulean", "In All Things", "Circle", "Now" with Diggs Duke, "The Rhythm" with Sarai Abdul-Malik, "Coming Home" with Aaron "AB" Abernathy, "Neverend/All For You" feat Siara Shawn, "Ever Between" with B Jamelle and "Glide" with Vaughan Octavia.
