An insanely wonderful treat – a sampling of tracks from the rare Uno Melodic label, started by Roy Ayers after leaving the major labels in the early 80s! Although Roy's name should have been enough to get the records out there, most of these tracks have always been very very tough to find – as the label went belly-up pretty quickly, and loads of excellent work barely made it onto the market. The feel here is very much like Roy's best work from the time – maybe even better, as the freedom of the indie scene really gave him a chance to work on some very hip experiments! This 14 tracks set brings together a stunning batch of rare singles like "Remember To Remember" by Rick Holmes, "You Can't Turn Me Away" by
Sylvia Striplin, "It's Your Love" by Ethel Beatty, "Just Keep My Boogie" by Jaymz Bedford, "Baby, Don't You Know" by Bobbi Humphrey, "He Is Mine Forever" and "Turned On To You" by Eighties Ladies, "You Said" by
Sylvia Striplin, "I Know You Care" by Ethel Beatty, "Interlude" by Justo Almario, and "Rapped Up In Your Love" and "Everybody" by Roy Ayers.
(Out of print – includes 5 tracks that didn't make the 2018 Expansion anthology.)
