Nice compilation that features Pete's best boogaloo tracks from the late 60s. Cuts include "Pete's Boogaloo", "Bobby", "I Like It Like That", "Micaela", "People Want To Know", "Fango", "Soy El Ray", "Cata Con Tata", "Arranca En Fa" and more. A groovy boogaloo party all the way through, with lots of stuff that's very hard to find on wax! LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ VariousLatin Affair Part 2 – The Next Experience Through 70s Latin Vibes ... LP
Follow Me (France), Late 1960s/Early 1970s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
A really great set of Latin tracks – all hard-hitting, with a keen bent on the dancefloor! This volume far surpasses the first one in the set, and it features a really great blend of tunes that includes a few old favorites, and some rare gems that we'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. The vibe is strong all the way – of the sort that you'd hear at some cool little DJ set in a hip London club. Titles include "Down San Diego Way" by Arthur Blythe, "Hit De Bongo" by Tito Puente, "La Descarga Del Bobo" by Willie Bobo, "I Like It Like That" by Pete Rodriguez, "Taste Of Honey Boogaloo" by Fajardo, "Shing A Ling Baby (alternate)" by Willie Bobo, and "Para Ti" by Machito. And even though you may know the names of the artists, the grooves are some of their best cuts – a well-chosen selection with a very fresh sound! LP, Vinyl record album

La LupeQueen Of Latin Soul/Reina De La Cancion Latina (180 gram pressing) ... LP
Tico/Vinyl Me Please, Late 1960s. New Copy ... Just Sold Out!
While Pete Rodriguez and Pete Terrace were battling it out for the "King Of The Boogaloo" title – La Lupe went ahead and dubbed herself "The Queen Of Latin Soul"! Oddly, though, the album's less of a strict Latin Soul effort than you might guess from the title – and is more of a mix of different modes, including some more heartfelt ballads that were more typical of Lupe's work – sung here with that heartfelt sense of soul that's most likely the real reason for her claim to the title! Arrangements are by Hector DeLeon, and bring a good focus on Lupe's incredible vocals through creative use of strings and percussion. Titles do include a Latin Soul version of "Fever", plus more traditional Latin tunes that include "Amor Gitano", "Aun", "Negruna", "Este Ritmo Sabroson", "Soy Sonerita", "La Tirana", and "Busamba". ✨✧ Willie RodriguezAt The Happenin' ... LP
Fonseca/Andale, Late 60s. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
Plenty happenin' here – a wealth of boogaloo grooves, mad Latin jazz riffs, and lots lots more – all served up on a platter that's easily one of the most cooking ever from trumpeter Willie Rodriguez! Like other releases on the Fonseca label, there's a nicely messed-up groove going on – a style that easily shifts between different Latin modes in search of the rawest sound possible – without any thought of mainstream convention, or the sort of straighter-laced sounds that might have played with the suburban crowds. Willie's band is clearly nice and youthful, and more than willing to follow his leadership – working equally well on both the English and Spanish language tunes on the set. Titles include "Boogaloo Hay", "Sansuyo", "Mi Guajira", "Mi Shingaling", "The Clock", "What You Want Is Boogaloo", "7th Ave Train", and the very tasty "Descarga El Bravo"! LP, Vinyl record album
