A later album from AntonioCarlos E Jocafi – but one that still holds onto the lively samba roots of their best older sides! The instrumentation is a mix of acoustic and electric elements – but usually falls more towards the former – and arrangements are by Cesar Machado, who changes things up a bit throughout the set, shifting styles to fit the musical voice of each individual tune. Titles include "Olho D'Agua", "Teresa Batista", "Dona Flor E Seus Dois Maridos", "Capitaes De Areia", "Conversa P'Ra Boi Dormir", and "Jesuino Galo Doido". CD
A mighty nice album from this legendary soulful samba duo! The record has them working in a warm 70s mode – with ensemble vocals helping out on a number of tracks, and some electric instrumentation under the acoustic cuica, cacaquinho, guitar, and percussion of the samba arrangements. Luiz Eca handled the strings on the album –a nd tracks include "Contra Veneno", "Cada Um Sabe Onde Doi", "Baiada", "Perspectiva", "E De Nicoco", "Que Me Importa", and "Indagorinha". LP, Vinyl record album

Mudei De Ideia ... CD RCA/Mr Bongo (UK), 1971. New Copy ...

An amazing bit of Brazilian funk – and the best album ever by this exciting soulful duo! The record's their first, and it's got a crackling intensity that you don't always find on their other albums – a groove that mixes hard samba with bass-heavy funk, with a sound that makes them one of the most important forces of the Samba Soul generation! There's lots here to love if you like the heavy grooves of Jorge Ben or Tim Maia – but the duo also have a really great approach of their own – especially in the way they'll trade voices back and forth, over grooves that also have plenty of back/forth action too! The record includes the amazing heavy piano/percussion jammer "Hipnose", plus the great cuts "Voce Abusou", "Kabaluere", "Se Quiser Valer", "Deus O Salve", "Nord West", and "Dalena". CD

Pra Sempre ... LP RCA (Brazil), 1976. Very Good+ ...

Funky samba with a jazzy touch – sung by the lovely Eliana Pittman, with a sweet 70s style that's a lot more mature than her 70s work. Many of the tracks mix together samba percussion with a sweeter electric style of instrumentation – in a mode that reminds us of the 70s work of AntonioCarlos e Jocafi, who contributed the title track "Pra Sempre". Other tracks include "Silencio", "Eu Sei De Tudo", "Vou-Me Embora", "No Meio Do Povo", and "Manto Azul". LP, Vinyl record album
