Portrait Of The Who

LP (Item 997930) Polydor (Netherlands), Late 60s — Condition: Very Good
Tracks include "Bucket T" "I'm A Boy" "Pictures Of Lily" "Doctor Doctor" "I Can See For Miles" and more.  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Late 70s issue. Cover has ome ringwear, edge wear, import and hype stickers, and is bent a bit at the corners and spine.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Polydor, 1966. Near Mint-
Maybe the first true moment of genius from The Who – a record that shows that the group aren't just the usual mod rockers of the time – even though they were already pretty darn great in that format! An incredible album – and one of the most revolutionary rock albums of the late 60s! Tommy
Decca, 1970. Very Good 2LP Gatefold
An amazing moment from The Who – and from the UK rock scene in general – as Tommy is one of the most fully-conceived concept albums ever recorded – a masterful effort that's still pretty hard to match all these many years later! Pete Townshend really knocked it out of the park ... LP, Vinyl record album

A record we'd never part with – and easily our favorite album ever from The Who! Quadrophenia represents the group at its peak from all perspectives – songwriting, performance, and even studio presence – as the album's got a sonic sensibility that few other albums of the time can ... Decca, 1965. Very Good-
The first full-length set from The Who – a blistering batch of rough-edged tunes that run the gamut from bluesy soul to sweeter pop to guitar-driven grinders that show an incredible amount of power – even at this early point! The album's somewhat all over the map, but in a good way ... LP, Vinyl record album
