Baby Come Home/Every Day's A Holiday

7-inch (Item 991937) Kapp, 1964 — Condition: Near Mint-
Out Of Stock

7-inch, Vinyl record

(Promo. Label has a small sticker.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Jo Ann Garrett

One Woman/I'm A Now Girl
Duo, Early 70s. Very Good
2 rare sides by Jo Ann Garrett – recorded after her album on Chess, with production by Andre Williams! "One Woman" is a sweet, sad ballad – pretty nice, but the real treat here is "Now Girl"! That tune's got a snapping little groove – just a touch of funk ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
ABC, Late 60s. Near Mint-
Oh for the days of the "drop out" single! We're not sure why don't they ever make these any more, but this cut's a great reminder of the genre at its best – done with a simple message that never gets too complicated – set to upbeat and bouncing arrangements from Johnny Pate, ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Velvet Hammer

Party Hearty/Happy
Soozi, 1977. Very Good+
Very nice modern soul tracks by this obscure Chicago group. "Party Hearty" has an uptempo dancefloor groove, with nice harmony vocals, and "Happy" has a smooth mellow sound that's got a bit of a Leroy Hutson feel to it. 7-inch, Vinyl record
Lamarr, Late 60s. Very Good
Brilliant non-LP work by the Esquires! Unlike their uptempo hits, this single has a nice slow groove feel, with a sly sexy sound, sort of like the Isley Brothers tracks on early T-neck albums. Excellent Chicago harmony soul, with stellar production by Bill "Bunky" Sheppard. Trust us ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Beautiful uptown soul by Barbara Lewis, and a track we've heard a million times, but still love to death! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Curtom, 1974. Near Mint-
Two excellent cuts from this great Chicago harmony group! "You Bring Out The Best" is a fantastic Leroy Hutson-esque cut – with a hook that won't quit, a sound that's sweet yet hip, and vocals that are completely sublime! "You Can't Keep Me Running" is more of the same ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Jay Pee, Early 70s. Very Good
A nice little single from this kiddie soul group! "Will You Still Be Mine" is a pretty nice sweet soul ballad – in the mode of work by the Ponderosa Twins or Jimmie Briscoe – but the real groover is "Here's Some Dances", an uptempo number with some nice drums, and a ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Music City Soul Brothers

Looking For My Baby/Something In My Eye
Music City, Late 60s. Very Good
A stone soul thumper! "Looking For My Baby" has a sock-solid finish – slowly boogalooing with a raw edge, and a late nite, blue light kind of sound that's totally great! "Something In My Eye" is even better – a sad, raw, lean southern soul type number – done ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
