Wallflower Waltz/Only

7-inch (Item 990401) Roulette, 1964 — Condition: Near Mint-

(White label promo. Label has a small sticker.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Dennis Coffey

Scorpio/Sad Angel
Sussex, Early 70s. Very Good+
Dennis Coffey's classic breakbeat track, with an intro that's been sampled more times that we can count – and a groove that's much harder to find on wax these days than it should be! Excellent stuff, with a choppy hard guitar groove, tight drums, and a nice rumbling conga that runs ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Atlantic, 1973. Near Mint- (pic cover)
A great little 7" ep version of one of Aretha's greatest records – and a nice little batch of jazzy tunes that features arrangements and production by Quincy Jones! The album breaks way past the stock southern soul style of some of Aretha's earlier work for Atlantic – and this 4 ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Star Vue, Early 70s. Near Mint-
Fantastic lost soul from Chicago! "If I Could" has these amazing baroque arrangements, with a good string part, and a hard groove buried deep in the mix. The lead vocals are by a very soulful female singer, and she really carries the track over nicely, with an honesty that's fairly ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
Harthon, Mid/Late 60s. Near Mint-
Fantastic Northern Soul from Detroit! The b-side "She's Putting You On" is a winning uptempo stormer, and "Go On" is a lost love ballad. 7-inch, Vinyl record
