1962's Greatest Hits

LP (Item 989278) Dot, 1962 — Condition: Sealed

(Stereo pressing.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Command, 1967. Near Mint- Gatefold
An incredible little set by Dick Hyman – as light and lovely as his other records are groovy – and done in a way that mixes Dick's breezy work on piano with a sweet set of woodwinds in the background! The sound's not exactly bossa, but it draws plenty of inspiration from the sound of ... LP, Vinyl record album

Reach Out
A&M, 1967. Very Good+
Fantastic! We love Burt Bacharach in so many ways that it's easy to forget the genius of these early A&M sides – but going back to them is always a treat, and it's wonderful to hear the way that Burt lays down his own work when given the chance! 18th Century Concepts

In the 20th Century Bag
Sidewalk, Late 60s. Very Good+
Some "baroque" pop stuff from this groovy studio band on Sidewalk. As the liner notes say "The great hits of today, with today's exciting beat", but with a group that gives the songs a fake 18th century sound. Mike Curb's on keyboards, and there may be a potential Wu-Tang ... LP, Vinyl record album

Don Goldie

Trumpet Caliente
Argo, 1962. Very Good+
Easily our favorite album ever from trumpeter Don Goldie – a record that really steps past his other sides, thanks to an excellent group!
