This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A great lost chapter in the Cannonball/David Axelrod story! The record features Cannon's classic quintet performing some longer, more serious works with orchestral backing – and the sound is vaguely similar to some of Axelrod's "high concept" work for Capitol. The record features ... LP, Vinyl record album
The Supersax ensemble takes on the classic concept of Charlie Parker with strings – really sticking true to the groundbreaking spirit of the original experiments, while also bringing things forward a bit with their wonderful multi-horn approach! The group features lead alto from Med Flory, ... LP, Vinyl record album
The great arranger in one of his grooviest settings – a very jazzy album that features trombone from Milt Bernhart and Bob Enevoldsen, guitar from Barney Kessel, percussion from Larry Bunker, drums from Shelly Manne, and trumpe from Don Fagerquist! Marshall leads and whistles – in a ... LP, Vinyl record album
Wonderful late 50s jazz from the LA scene – not just because singer Dakota Staton is at the best of her youthful prime, but also because the Shearing group on the set is great too! George is working here with one of his best lineups – a group that includes Latin-inflected Al McKibbon ... LP, Vinyl record album
Capitol album that compiles some of Charlie Barnet's earlier 78rpm sides for the label, recorded in 1949 and 1950, with medium sized groups that have a good swing behind Barnet's firey tenor. Titles include "Cu-Ba", "Eugipelliv", "Lonely Street", "Pan ... LP, Vinyl record album
A classic pairing of the guitar of Earl Klugh and the keyboards of Bob James – and a set that really makes some great steps forward out of a blend of the acoustic and electric sounds from each player! Earl's strings sound especially nice over James' Fender Rhodes – but even cuts with ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great bit of 70s electric work from Quincy – and probably his funkiest album ever! Quincy's really stepping out here from the straighter and spacier styles of earlier records – going for more of the dirty grooves he was cutting up for soundtrack albums, and hitting notes that were a ... Way more than just a simple version of work from Porgy & Bess – and instead, a key collaboration between Miles Davis and Gil Evans – done with a sound that really transforms the tunes! True, the work here is all based on George Gershwin's original compositions – but through ... LP, Vinyl record album
