Voyages

LP (Item 984667) Ark, 1978 — Condition: Near Mint-

(2012 Spanish pressing on Guerssen, still in the shrink with hype sticker. Includes the insert.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

American Revolution
Flick Disc, 1968. Very Good
A very groovy group, and one who've got the sunshine pop sound you'd expect from their image on the cover – bright, swinging, and upbeat – often harmonized, and set to cool Sidewalk Production work from Harley Hatcher! Titles include "Rainbow In The Rain", "Cold ... LP, Vinyl record album

Berlin
RCA, 1973. Very Good
The "biggest" album of Lou Reed's career – in the grand sense – with epic production and a small army of superstar session players and production by spectacle specialist Bob Ezrin – but that's paired with arguably the darkest, gloomiest songcycle ever composed by Lou ... LP, Vinyl record album

Morning Glory

Two Suns Worth
Fontana, 1968. Very Good
A bit more rough-edged than some of their late 60s contemporaries, but a group who's definitely got some Sunshine Pop leanings! The group features mixed male and female lead vocals – often with one more strongly out front – and a sound that's sunny, but also pretty fuzzy too – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Steely Dan

Gaucho
MCA, 1980. Very Good+
The last album in the classic run of Steely Dan – the final taste we'd have of the group until their surprising revival in the 90s! Gaucho picks up beautifully where Aja left off – warmly produced with a deep undercurrent of jazz, but perhaps a bit more down to earth feel at times too ... LP, Vinyl record album

Santana

Santana III
Columbia, 1971. Very Good+ Gatefold
One of the most searing, soaring albums ever from Santana – a set that takes all the power of the previous two records, and packs it into one tight little set! Apple, 1968. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold
The Beatles at their late best – on 1968's self-titled set – now immortalized as The White Album! Fabulous Impressions
ABC, 1967. Very Good
A record with a vibe that's way more than you'd expect from the group's supper club style on the cover – as the record features a great set of original Curtis Mayfield compositions, sung by the group in great form, with arrangements by the total genius Johnny Pate!
