Sparkling remixes of work by the amazing Xaver Fischer Trio – a group that we've loved from their very first album for their straightforward and jazzy style of keyboard grooves! Given that the Fischer group work in a mode that's right out of the 70s, they've got a lean, clean approach that makes them perfect for remix territory – because their core keyboard lines and rhythms leave plenty of space for others to interpret their own grooves. A few of the tracks on the set are remixed by Fischer himself, but others are by a host of like-minded talents from the European scene – and titles include "Follow Me (Raw Deal rmx)", "Dinosaur (Matt Flores rmx)", "Rubezahl (Phoneheads rmx)", "Disko (Peshay rmx)", "I Believe (DisJam rework)", "Bass Of Space (Maxwell Implosion rmx)", "The Seventh Sea (Xaver Fischer & Tony Economidis rmx)", "Terra Samba (Fritz Pauer vs Xaver Fischer)", and "I Sing This Song For You (Nicola Conte Latin Contrasts version)" – which is done like many Conte mixes, as a straighter jazz tune with lots of added instrumentation!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Unique (Germany), 2000. Used
A fantastic batch of keyboard tracks! Xaver Fischer plays like one of the funky fusion greats of the 70s – somewhere between Gene Harris, Ronnie Foster, and Johnny Hammond – working the electric piano and assorted keys to come up with a smooth spacey sound that reminds us of the ... CD

Kieran Hebden's third album as Four Tet – an unpredictable, completely hypnotic batch of abstract beatcraft that sounded like it was built to last when it first appeared in the early 00s – and sure enough, it's sounds as fresh as ever a decade+ later! What makes Four Tet at his best so ... CD

Ray Harris & The Fusion Experience

Ray Harris & The Fusion Experience
P-Vine (Japan), 2007. Used
Ray Harris is a heck of a great keyboardist – one with plenty of influences from the 60s and 70s, and a groove that more than lives up to the title of the set! The style's a bit less conventionally "fusion" than you might expect – and instead, there's almost a club jazz feel ... CD

Sonar Kollektiv (Germany), 2003. Used
Wonderfully jazzy work from Micatone – a rich album filled with lots of lovely twists and turns, all of them coming off with a level of care and class that we wouldn't expect! The group's core is the instrumental combo – very heavy acoustic bass, drums, guitar, keyboards, vibes, and ... CD

Julian Lage

Layers
Blue Note, 2023. Used
The layers here come from the wonderful interplay between the guitar of Julian Lage and his trio members Jorge Roeder on bass and Dave King on drums – both musicians who lay back nicely, and find a way to resonate with those trademark chromatic notes that Lage seems to spin out effortlessly! ...
