Keyboardist Kamaal Williams is light years ahead of his first record here – and that's saying a lot, as that album was already pretty darn far-reaching! The music still has plenty of Fender Rhodes and keyboards, and other jazz elements that include tenor from Quinn Mason – but the overall sound is much more cosmic and complex, especially in the rhythms – which often seem to be responding to organic pulsations or magnetic shifts. Not that the album doesn't swing at points – because it definitely does – but as Kamaal states proudly in the notes, "you are now listening to and supporting an original movement from the London underground" – a comment that we couldn't have put better ourselves! The set also features great drums from Greg Paul, strings from Miguel Atwood Ferguson, harp from Alina Bzhezhinska, and a bit of vocals from Lauren Faith – on titles that include "Street Dreams", "Toulouse", "Big Rick", "Pigalle", "Early Prayer", "One More Time", "1989", and "Save Me". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
