Caper Of The Golden Bulls

LP (Item 9778) Tower, Late 60s — Condition: Sealed
A very groovy heist soundtrack! Vic Mizzy did a rare few albums under his own name – and this soundtrack is a great little gem that mixes jazzy bits with more bossa and Latin inflected numbers. There's a lot of electric guitar on the set, sometimes played with a Spanish flair – and the rhythms are frequently in a gentle Latin or bossa nova style, with some nice action flourishes! Titles include "The Dancing Safe Crackers", "Jota Waltz", "Welcome To The Gang", "Bedroom Bolero", "Waiting For Frenchy", and "Sad Sam Samba".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Sealed stereo pressing! Cover has a cutout hole in one corner.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Les Baxter/Mike Curb/The 13th Power

Wild In The Streets
Tower, 1968. Near Mint- Gatefold
Hilarious! This is the soundtrack to a goofy late 60s shocker film about the time when hippies and young folks would take over America. Les Baxter handled the musical score for the film, but the real treat is the schlocky rock tracks – written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, with ... LP, Vinyl record album

Prudence & The Pill
20th Century, 1968. Sealed
A strange little film from the late 60s – a brit comedy starring Deborah Kerr and David Niven, in kind of a tender and silly comedy about the early years of birth control. About half the soundtrack's kind of orchestral and romantic (surprisingly), but the other half is nice and groovy – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Ennio Morricone

Le Professionnel
General Music (France), 1981. Near Mint- Gatefold
A great little Morricone soundtrack – later than most of the classic work, but done for a French thriller that starred Jean-Paul Belmondo, with some great spare compositions that have slight romantic French soundtrack touches! There's some great numbers that feature Morricone's style of ... LP, Vinyl record album

Tony Bruno

Hell's Angels '69
Capitol, 1969. Sealed Gatefold
An excellent biker soundtrack – very different than the usual bag! For this one, Tony Bruno has come up with some great instrumentals – many of them jazzier than you'd think, and a few with some nice funky Capitol instrumental touches – not so much studio fuzz guitar, as they are ... One of the hippest Italian soundtracks of the 60s – and a motherlode of tracks by the great Piero Piccioni! Mainstream, Mid 60s. Very Good+
A wonderful soundtrack from the great Quincy Jones – one that's maybe not as well-known as his albums for Mercury at the time, but which is maybe even groovier! There's loads of great elements going on in the music – a bit of whistling from Toots Thielemans at times, some wordless ... LP, Vinyl record album

Swingers unite! Quincy Jones did the score for this very strange film about two couples who decided to freak out their marriages a bit. Maiden Voyage
Blue Note, 1965. Near Mint-
