Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have
some signs of use (although not major ones).
May have slight surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Although not a boogaloo album all the way through, this is really one of the group's strongest efforts – and a record that does include some really fantastic Latin soul numbers! Arrangements are by Louie Ramirez and Ray Santos, both of whom bring a really darkly grooving sound to the record ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of Mongo's great early records, with a spooky Afro-Cuban sound, and a great assortment of drummers that includes Francisco Aquabella, Carlos Vidal, Willie Bobo, and Modesto Duran. The overall vibe is much more traditional than Mongo's other albums – and there's none of the pop Latin jazz ... LP, Vinyl record album
Cool picture disc of the Motor Booty album, with a photo of George Clinton water skiing on two dolphins on one side, and a sketch of him fighting a bird on the other. Housed in a sleeve that lists the tracks on the album, but which doesn't have the same pop-up landscape as the non-pic disc version. ... LP, Vinyl record album
Very nice 2LP set that brings together material from Paul Chambers' great Vee Jay hardbop albums! Chambers only cut 2 records for the label, and they're both darn hard to find on vinyl – so the set's extra-nice because it might be the only way you'll find these hard-hitting sides on wax. ... A great collection of work by Lee – mostly from the mid 60s, packaged together here as a Memorial Album issued by Blue Note as part of a long tradition of such albums for jazz labels (more famous examples include those released for Wardell Gray or Clifford Brown by Prestige). Titles include ... LP, Vinyl record album
